Looking for information on M. A. Lehr (Marvin Allen Lehr) who owned & operated a business in 1889 in Schaller, IA. Later he moved his family to Boone, NE in the 1900 census. Somewhere before 1915 he moved to Omaha, NE. Marvin divorced Rose Luvilla Francisco Lehr and she married John Martin. Looking for any information on the family. Lucian Lehr married Mary F. Goedecke whose parents were Armee and molly Reid Goedecke. They had a daughter named Marilou Lehr. Cecil Marvin Lehr married Mable (don't know maiden name). They had a daughter named Gladys Rose Lehr who married Cliford or Clifton Smith. Hazel Alice Lehr married Karl Percy Reese and they had a son named Jack Reese. Gladys Lehr married Ralph Lewis Pennington and they had 3 children: Phylis Pennington Moss, Jane Pennington Harrison, Robert Stanley Pennington (died 29 Dec 1944 in Battle of the Bulge, buried in Luxembourg, Beligum. Oprah Lehr died at birth or shortly after in Schaller, IA around 1885. Also looking for info on other family members: Frank Smith, Addie M. Smith, Ray C. Smith, Llyond Smith, Harry B. Smith all born in Schaller, IA in 1880 time frame. Mary Jane Lehr was living with them and Amy Fuller in the 1900 Schaller, IA census. Not sure if they moved to Omaha, NE. Trying to find out if these Smith's were related to Clifford or Clifton Smith that married Gladys Rose Lehr probably around 1913 to 1925. They purchased the burial plot for Cecil Lehr who died 9 Sep 1941 and is buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Elks Division, Omaha, NE. I know that Cecil Lehr was a member of Omaha's Post 1 American Legion. Can I get records from them anywhere? Gladys Lehr Smith died in Ft Lauderdale, FL (died 11/22/1973 Boward Co FL) and is buried there. Can anyone tell me if there are any Elks records available? Cecil was also a Printer 1st Class, United States Navy, Pacific Fleet. Can anyone tell me how I might get these records? Looking for any information on the family of Henry Lehr Sr. (died 1952) and his wife Elsie Lehr (died 1946). They are also buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Omaha, NE. Trying to find their children. Understand they had a daughter with the last name Pendleton . At a brick wall. Thank you and have a great day! Sandy in VA

Dear Julia, Technically yes this hair could be used. I will ask the person who is doing the DNA analysis for us. He might say its too much trouble to extract the DNA but you never know. If you send me a message off the list I will reply with his answer. The results of the first phase of the Pennington Research Association's DNA study are in and they are very interesting, you can read them at: http://www.penningtonresearch.org/organization/researchcmt/phaseonerep ort.htm. If your group is not represented why not start collecting volunteers and money so you can join the party! Anyone who takes part can be sure of confidentiality as the company that does the testing knows only that they are testing a Pennington. John Alan Pennington did a wonderful job getting us off to a good start. I have taken over as the Leader of the project (Nicholas Penington npenington@downstate.edu). Participants will be receiving their results in the mail soon. We will be starting Phase Two shortly when the logistics are in place and a call for volunteers will be made at that time.

I have added some new Pennington land documents and a few pictures to the Group 7 web page. I recently visited Ashe Co., NC and photocopied several land documents...included on the Pennington Documents 2 are the following documents. NEW - Land Grant to Micajah Pennington 1799. NEW - Land Grant to Micajah Pennington 1801. NEW - Land Grant to Ephraim Pennington 1800. NEW - Land Deed between Levi Pennington and David Worth. NEW - Land Deed between Elijah Pennington and Nathan Eastrage. NEW - Land Deed between Harvey Pennington and Levi Pennington. Those documents are on http://carmenj.my100megs.com/PenningtonPage/pennington_documents_2.htm There are also some additional photos of the graves of Polly Pennington, her husband Reubin Elliott and their son Wiley Elliott. They are located in Smethport Cemetery, Ashe Co., NC. The photos are on http://carmenj.my100megs.com/PenningtonPage/photographs.htm I also have a question for some of those more knowledgable about land documents than I. On the land deed between Levi Pennington and David Worth...there are differing dates. One date records the actual land transaction, and the other date is listed by the probate judge. The first date is in 1857 and seems to be the actual transaction. The second date is 4 May 1877 and states that the deed was proven to the Probate judge. The reason why I ask...is that we have a death date for Levi Pennington of before 1880. Could this date...the 1877 date be a date of the probate of Levi Pennington's will. Note...this Levi Pennington is the grandson of Micajah Pennington and Rachel Jones...not their son. Here is something I wanted to share with you. I know it's off topic in that it isn't about a family line. But this will clean copies to sent to the list without a bunch of >>>>>>>. Read on, download and soon we'll have the emailers cleaning up the messages they send us. This is something I use many times each day. Not only is it useful and eliminates frustration, it's totally free. You know the emails you receive that look like this.... > Subject: Aligator Shoes > > > A young blonde was on vacation in the depths of Louisiana. > > > She wanted a pair of genuine alligator shoes in the worst > > > way, but was very reluctant to pay the high prices the local > > > vendors were asking. > > > > > > After becoming very frustrated with the "no haggle" attitude of > > > one of the shopkeepers, the blonde shouted, "Maybe I'll just > > > go out and catch my own alligator so I can get a pair of > > > shoes at a reasonable price!" Well, I highlight the joke (etc) then click edit and click on cut then paste it on The Cleaner. I click on clean and instanteously it looks like this..... ~~~~ Subject: Aligator Shoes A young blonde was on vacation in the depths of Louisiana. She wanted a pair of genuine alligator shoes in the worst way, but was very reluctant to pay the high prices the local vendors were asking. After becoming very frustrated with the "no haggle" attitude of one of the shopkeepers, the blonde shouted, "Maybe I'll just go out and catch my own alligator so I can get a pair of shoes at a reasonable price!" ~~ It will already be highlighted so I click edit then cut again and paste it on a clean email. Then I sent it on to you guys. This is the information that came on an emails about it. It quickly downloads and I know you'll like it...........Lois For those who don't know what the heck "The Cleaner" is, it's a freeware e-mail reformatting program. It gets rid of all those annoying carets (>>>) on forwarded e-mail and turns it into something more readable. To make things even better, I've taken the program and it's associated "Read Me" file and wrapped it up in a better setup program. Now when you download, you'll get an install program rather than a zip file. Once you download the setup program, just double-click it and follow the prompts. It will even add a desktop icon for you. Finally, I want to remind everyone that this is NOT my program and I don't claim any kind of copyright to it. I'm just helping pass it around. And yes, it's freeware. Here's the direct download link the program is about 485KB, so it won't take too long to download): <A HREF="http://www.worldstart.com/cleanset.exe">http://www.worldstart.com/cleanset.exe</A>

Looking for information on the family of Robert Stanley Pennington died in Battle of the Bulge 29 Dec 1944. His family lived in Louiseville, KY. His parents were Ral-ph Louis Pennington and Gladys Lehr Pennington Richards (who lived in Omaha, NE around mid 1900's). Would like to know more about the family. Sandy
