I have an Issac born between 1740 and 1750 and died ca 1833 that was in Henry Co. VA in the 1780's and then moved to Patrick Co. Henry Co. and Patrick are considered South Side. However, I have not determined where he came from at this time. It appears he may be from the NC Pennington line. Some from the NC group also went to SC. Eleanor Audrey E. Are the Bucks County, PA PENNINGTONS the same that went to Southside VA, then to SC? Edward and Isaac PENNINGTON are names seen in both areas. Anyone descend from these PENNINGTONS of Bucks County, PA? Thanks, Audrey

Can you tell me if this is Robert Stanley Pennington who died in the battle of the Buldge 12/29/1944 buried in Luxenbourg, Beligum? Robert's family was living in Louiseville, Ky or Jessup, GA at the time and had lived in CA. I'm trying to find info on his family. This is my relative. Sandy
These two people are found on the Inventory of the estate of Jesse Corn in Patrick Co. VA in 1809. Robert also bought land in Patrick Co. in 1795. To whom does he belong? Thanks. Eleanor
Hello Audrey, You mention BALLARDS. I descend from CHARLES BALLARD, born c. 1789 in N. C. He was in Mississippi early in the 1800's - married Jenney (Jane) Brady on 3/11/1821 in Marion County. I have hit the "brick wall" on his parentage. Do you "know" this Ballard???? Thanks, Carroll DiBenedetto I am in a Pennington line also: Abraham?? Absalom, William, Charlotte (m. Calvin Jackson) Mary Jane Ballard to my mother, Victoria Charlotte Ballard.
Hi Audrey, I haven't seen a Lanier/Pennington connection in my branch but I'm relatively new at this. Thanks for the info. I'll keep an eye open for your families. There is a Pennington/Martindale connection for my Isaac. He also has lots of suits filed against Hanby and land dealings with the Marrs. Have not found any connection to a Henry Pennington, but thought he might be related someway. However, it doesn't look like it as my Isaac is in Henry, Patrick, and Surry and Stokes NC. Barb, I'd like to explore with you this possibility. I have much info on the Penningtons in Brunswick and Mecklenburg, but don't show any going to Henry Co VA. There are a couple of branches that I don't have info on however. Can you tell me what you have in Henry Co? What are the dates for Henry and Isaac and are there any other names? About a year back I did a study of the deeds of Brunswick and the surrounding areas and I don't recall making a connection to Henry or Patrick Counties... So I'll go back and look at that info again. Barb, In deed records of Brunswick Co, VA, both names, Henry and Isaac PENNINGTON are involved with land transactions of the LANIER family. These two families are intermarried with our families; LANIER & BALLARD; PENNINGTON & POOLE, etc. The above is the reason I have followed the Southside VA families for so long; been at this for about 30 yrs now. There isn't much in Brunswick on Henry PENNINGTON; perhaps he moved on to Henry County. I wonder if there is a LANIER/PENNINGTON connection? I think it should go Lunenburg-Halifax-Pittsylvania-Henry Patrick. Mecklenburg came out of Lunenburg going east whereas Halifax went west. I am in Henry, but could find nothing in the parent counties so far. I really think the Henry and Isaac in Mecklenburg are different people and are too far to the east because my Isaac buys land from Henry in Stokes Co. NC. However, you never can tell. Thanks. Audrey, Walter Bailey Pennington, s/o Nettie Lark and Edward Pennington was born Nov 6 1777 in Mecklenburg. He followed his brother Dennis Lark Pennington to Harrison Co. Indiana, but I'm not sure when he made the move. I show he married Dec 1802 in Mecklenburg. I show that his daughter in 1850 said she was born in VA in abt 1816. This would indicate that the Walter you find in the 1810 census may be the same, and I show no indication that there was another Walter in the area at the time.... But that's the closest I can come to confirm it's the same person at this time. If you have other info on your Walter, we may be able to make a more positive connection to this line of Penningtons.
