Eleanor, I tracked back from SC to PA on PENNINGTONS, familiar names inclusive. Two of the names in Rowan Co, NC is Levi PENNINGTON and Benajah PENNINGTON. If associated surnames mean anything, and I think they do, the PA PENNINGTONS and Rowan County PENNINGTONS should be of the same family. But, you may already know this. Do you have this line complete? And, did they migrate from PA. Looking for the source of the info that says Levi Pennington is on a 1755 tax list (?) in Rowan Co. NC. Need the documentation for this. Is it from a book or a court record or something in the Raleigh Archives? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. Eleanor

Audrey: My name is Audrey, too. I have been seeking information for years on an Edward Pennington who had a son named Isaac. He was born in about 1795 in who knows where. He is first found in the 1820 Ashe Cty NC census, with one small son 0-9 years of age and he being 18-26 and his wife being 16-26 years of age. They had Isaac and Irene later. There were quite a few Penningtons around but no one claims him. Ashe County had been Wilkes in this area and later became Watauga Cty. I have never been able to link him to NC Penningtons.
