Steve I vote to keep the response as it is. Anyone can post anytime they want, but if you get too much traffic, people will eventually drop off the list to keep from handling it. Thanks, looks like a minority opinion. Jim Pennington penet@kansas.net
Hi folks, I hope that someone who was on the Gold Country Tour in Sacramento, can tell me the name of the tour guide that took us through 'Sutters Mill', on the American River.. It was 'Grannie Franny" or Grannie Flecher" or something else. I need her name for the write up going to Pennington Pedigrees, as soon as possible. Thanks for any help you can provide. Hello again, Pennington researchers As far as I know at this point these are not my Pennington's but came across them & thought maybe they might help someone else. They came from Microfilm # 006423 Baptisms of Delaware 1759-1890 Pennington, Benjamin Franklin Parents: Asbury and Jane Pennington Place: Immanuel Chorch, New Castle Date: September 11, 1835 Pennington, Clara Elizabeth Parents: Lewis E. & Elizabeth Pennington Place : Immanuel Church, New Castle Date: March 30, 1848 Pennington, Francis Dushane Parents: Asbury & Jane Pennington Place: Immanuel Church, New Castle Date September 11, 1835 I hope this is of use to somone!! Lori Researching the line below. I am looking for the parents of the Following William Pennington ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - FIRST GENERATION 1. William Hyland PENINGTON was born about 1845/46 in Wilmington, Delaware. He resided Evanston, Cook County, Illinois in Mar 1864. He was also known as Wiliam H. Pennington. He served in the military in 39th Illinois Infantry in the Civil War. William was a member of thr Regimental Band, He was also listed as being the Company Bugler at Bermuda Hundred in Virginia where he was stationed. According to the History the musicians were also stretcher bearers and often served as medics. So William probably did not actually take part in fighting. His unit served at the Siege Of Petersburg, a major battle. The casualties from his unit were significant, particularly after William joined in 1864. Despite the fact that he was a likely medic, being at Petersburg was definitely in great danger as people were often killed simply living in the trenches. Williams Regiment the 39th was one of the lead units blocking Lee's retreat from the Appomattox, they got to witness the Surrender of General Lee. He was buried in Des Moines, Washington. Augusta MacGregor COUSINS (daughter of John COUSINS and Emma JOY) was born on 4 Jul 1843 in Maine. She died on 27 Oct 1924 in Eatonville, Pierce County, Washington. She was also known as Augusta Cousins. William Hyland PENINGTON and Augusta MacGregor COUSiNS had the following children: +2 i. Adelaide Rebecca PENNINGTON. +3 ii. Mary Emma PENNINGTON. +4 iii. Carlos Alden PENINGTON. 5 iv. Kenneth PENINGTON. 6 v. Robert PENINGTON was born in 1871. He died in 1925.

Hi Lori, In a message dated 8/2/97 5:14:29 AM, you wrote: <<I have some lookup references for Greenbrier County, and will be glad to do lookups and post to the group!>> Any reference to any Pennington in Greenbrier, Hampshire, Monroe or Pendleton County in VA/WV before 1810 will be appreciated. Our PRA Group 26's progenitor, William Pennington, is documented in Monroe Co., VA/WV by 1798. Any references to these counties will be helpful to this clan. Thanks for the offer. He had two sons born in Illinois between 1828-1832. Job and Benjamin. The family settled in Knox County, Indiana, on Donation lot 19. Bob Pennington
Looking for Tina Borrus- She emailed us question about ancestors - do not have return email address for her. Any help would be appreciated James Pennington : ringking@msn.com
I agree with you, Steve. Let's post the responses to the list. Frances Turner Vancouver, WA
Send responses to the list population. Have a nice day. Edna Pennington Burns I think I'm from group one
Steve: I hope you get this message. I have been sending you other messages and have not received any replies. I am responding to your message concerning replys to the sender vs the entire list membership. I vote for reply to the sender only. Should a person wish to reply to the list, they can copy the message and resend it as a new message to the list. Otherwise, there is just too much mail! Hope all is well with you. You were the subject of a great deal of discussion at the PRA meeting in Sacramento. Please reply back if you receive this message. Thanks, Gene Pennington

Steve, I wouldn't mind seeing the responses either. If somone wishes to have it private they could ask for a response to be sent to them E'mail. This is a great List! Lori
I think it would be a wonderful idea to post replies to the list. I think it will help all of us with the research that we are individually involved with.
