Hello all Penningtons researchers: I am looking for information on Penningtons who lived in Arkansas, early to mid 1800's. I know some possibly lived in Pulaski Co. and probably married into a Hudgens family there. There were children born , according to Pennington names in the Haney Hudgens, (Pulaski, Co. ARK.) Bible as follows: (ATTENTION: This is only a part of the bible entires, along with the source.) Matilda Ann Pennington was bornd November ? 1863 David H. Pennington was bornd d March 24, 1865 Minnie May Pennington was bornd March 17 day 1870 Mary Louiza Pennington was bornd September 23, 1871 Submitted to The Arkansas FAMILY HISTORIAN, Vol. 22, #1, March 1884. by William K. Eubanks, 7111 Indiana, Apt. D-3, Little Rock, Ark. 72207. Does anyone know anything about this line??? Any help appreciated. Thanks Janet H. Pueblo, Co.
Looking for information about Abel PENNINGTON b 1737-1755 in NC, d about 1819 in Tuscaloosa County, AL. He was married to Sarah who died before him. Their daughter Sally/Sarah who married Joseph WILSON in 1798 in Oglethorpe County, GA is my line. Does anyone know who Abel's parents were or might have been? Any idea where in NC he lived? Thanks! Nancy
I made copies of all the Penington marriages recorded Abt 1750-1850 in Delaware and thought that if I put them on the list they might be of help to some of you. Since these will take a while for me to complete, I will put them in the subject line of the E'Mail alphebetically the Pennington Groom or Pennington Bride's first name. This is GREAT STUFF !! I think it is very nice of Lorri to go to this extra effort for the Pennington group. I found some of my people there , and am sure I will find more as she puts it on line. Again, Thanks, Lorri!! Merle
Lorri's data is wonderful! I recognized Aldrich as Merle Price's family and saw Augustus H. as the Baltimore City Conveyancer and Notary I'd puzzled over for a long time. He is listed in the Baltimore City Directories for many years in the mid 1800's. Some of the others undoubtedly will be too. Thanks Lorri for a really positive effort! Your Cousin, Carolyn
Lori, Thanks for posting that. I have a few stray Penningtons in Delaware, so what you posted will be of help. I have this one marriage: Robert Denny married Margaret Pennington 15 feb 1802. I do not know their parents. They had two children that I know of. Sabrah Pennington Denny who married Joseph Hoffecker, and Ann Arthur Denny who married Jesse Crockett. Will Brown

In addition to being removed if mail bounced from your address 4 times, there is a POSSIBILITY that if you send the fourth message to such a "bad address" you MAY be bounced. This is rare and it is trying to be corrected... But the important thing here is to keep a level head and just re-subscribe. I will try to stay on top of the bounced mail and remove the "bad address" after the third bounce so innocent people aren't removed, but I might miss some. The 177 subscribers to this list all seem to be very rational and there isn't all the problems that exist on so many lists. I commend everyone and appreciate the demeanor of the subscribers. -- Steve Privett mailto:eqretrodr@earthlink.net mailto:SPrivett@aol.com Penninton Research Association Web Site http://users.aol.com/SPRIVETT/prahome.htm

Brian, Centre Hall was (and is) a pretty small town, so you're probably right. I know Robert Pennington only had 1 son, Henry, but Henry had a number of children. One was Isaac, born 1814 - my husband's ggg-grandfather. If you aren't from Centre County, I could see who all of Henry's children were the next time I get to the Centre County Historical Library in Bellefonte (a terrific resource, I must say). I got my information through my mother-in-law, although it's at the library too. Apparently some DAR person tried to recruit her at some point (Robert was in the revolution). Let me know... Just a reminder to all, that "the system" automatically removes you from the mailing list IF mail to your address is returned undeliverable 4 times. A number of reasons could exist that would cause this from the recent problems AOL had during their software upgrade, to a full mailbox. So remember, if you don't download your mail periodically, and your server starts returning you mail for ANY reason, you will be bounced from the list after 4 returned items. So if you are going on vacation, and curretnly receive alot of mail each day, either unsubscribe, or have someone check your mail for you every couple of days. Otherwise you will be removed and have to subscribe when you return. If you ever suspect that you may have been removed, you can have me check the subscription list for you and I can add you at the time of checking the list. -- Steve Privett mailto:eqretrodr@earthlink.net Pennington Research Association web site: http://users.aol.com/SPRIVETT/prahome.htm
Linda Koenig writes: >Great commentary from Carolyn McDaniel. Discouraging, yes, but >maybe people will be more cautious now.... I'd like to chime in to agree with Linda. Carolyn is a refreshing voice, especially to those of us who have some connection to the MD/DE Pennington lines. Errors in the various family trees are sort of like viruses and it seems that the current explosion of genealogy over the internet has made it easier for them to be propogated and next-to-impossible to eradicate. Too many of us practice "un-safe" genealogy (if you'll pardon the analogy) and in this age of free-wheeling info exchange, we should all be more careful. Carolyn, if you read this, I'd love to hear what you have to say regarding the ancestors of the Abraham Pennington who is said to have moved from VA to Berkely Co., SC where he died in 1756. I would imagine, however, that you may get swamped with such requests after your most recent post. I wish I was in a position to be of more assistance, but my role is generally limited to that of a collator and disseminator of info. Anyway, thank you for your comments. Hello List members, Yesterday I sent some info concerning Wilmington, Delaware - Hyland B. Penington and census info showing him with what I beleive to be his son (William R.) and grandson (William H.)( my 2nd great grandfather) I had not realized that I might have been bumped off the list at the time of posting the info. Since I didn't see any responses I looked back over my mail and see that I hadn't received any posts from the list since the 9th of the month so I believe that I must have been bumped I have done another subscribe If any of you responded in my request for opinions please post again or send to me privately. Thanks so much, Lori LRCroswell@aol.com
