    3. Thank you. My father-in-law said the Weavers and Greers were related, before he died. His children do not know how, nor how about finding the connection. Please get back to me. I will share data , also. 1. [PENNINGTON-L] Information on a Pennington Group?
    2. Ewin Kiser
    3. In reviewing my files of information gathered on Rev. Charles Pennington, Gr. V, I ran across a copy of information on Charles and Diana Parsons Pennington (not related to Rev. Charles) from a book "Early Settlers of Lee County, Virginia and Adjacent Counties, Volume I." This appears to be very credible genealogical information about "Charles Pennington (son of Micajah, Jr., who was the son of Micajah, Sr. ... b. Lee Co., Va. 1805; ... m. ca. 1824 Diana Parsons" who lived in Lee Co. for awhile then remove to Halan Co. KY ... who later returned to Lee County where they died," etc. Included are their children, their children's spouses and children and some land transfer information. My question is directed to John Pennington, Editor of PP, or whomever might provide an answer. This appears to be very useful genealogical information. I would gladly provide it for publication in PP, if present guidelines will permit its publication, or to the Group Leader for whatever group Charles, son of Micajah, belongs to or whomever can provide to those who may have an interest. Ewin Kiser, Gr. V.

His parents, etc. I have nothing on him right now and hesitate to enter the info that I got into my gedcom without checking its accuracy. I would certainly appreciate it! 1. [PENNINGTON-L] Re: Wells Pennington-reply- Audrey and Sadie
    2. Dear Audrey, Sadie, and List members, The Wells Pennington of Group 32 was born ca. 1781 in NC according to June B. Bork's Vol. 3, which abstracts the 1850 census (HH# 287)of Wayne Co.KY. In 1850 his wife Elizabeth was living with him. She was listed as born ca. 1779 in MD. At present we don't have actual proof of her last name but it is believed she was a Strunk. However, the 1860 Census of Pulaski Co.KY (HH#634) from the book publ. by the Pulaski Co.Hist. Soc. has Wells born ca. 1779 in VA. He is living with Theophilus Pennington and wife Penelope Pennington. Wells' wife Eliz. is not present and may be the Eliz. Pennington who died in 1852 in Wayne Co.KY according to Bork's Vol. 2, p. 388. Theophilus is believed to be Wells' son and he is listed in 1860 as being born in NC ca. 1802. His wife, Penelope is listed as born ca. 1801 in NC. The confusion about NC vs. VA may result from the family living on or adjacent to, the county/state line between Grayson Co. VA and Ashe Co. NC (previously Wilkes Co.). In re: to Sadie's Wells Pennington, I wonder if he was the Wells Pennington who was born in the 1870's and filed an Eastern Cherokee Application around 1906-1908? This Wells is alleged to have descended from the Blevins family. I forget his ancestry but contact me Sadie if you want me to dig more ( [email protected]). I am also very curious about a Wells Pennington who is alleged to have been buried in Azen Cem in VA. Anyone who knows who that Wells is, I'd appreciate it if you'd post that info to the lists. Thanks. Barbara Temple Group 12 Leader Group 32 Member

    2. My,My,My, It was so nice to get on the computer this morning and see so many enthusiastic cousin, it sure did get me motivated. Now to me that is what genealogy is all about, Cousins sharing with cousins regardless of what group you are in. Carman, Curiosity is what keeps me going and searching for that little light. Like the one I got for Christmas when Bobby told me I was in group 6, there I was all the time and overlooked it. For the ones that is not in a group yet go to the other group pages and study them you may be surprised what you may find. Carman as far as the name (Strunk) My Fathers sister aunt Rosie, Levi Jackson Pennington daughter said that she had an aunt by that name but she could not remember anything about her. Keep in mind she is 95 years old but still very alert. That is why I posted it to see if by chance I would get some feed back. Thank you all for letting me be a part of the family. `~Mary

    3. Dear Audrey and List, This is certainly one of the things that needs to be spelled out...I wouldn't be surprised if the Joseph, Abel, Larken, and Levi in the 1820 census are brothers as well as Ephraim. I don't live in that area...but if anyone is in the area of Ashe County and can look up a will, land deed, or other document...we might be able to figure out if they are all related. I am fairly sure that they are...the only child that I am relatively sure about...and I have no proof is Levi b. 1794, son of Levi b. 1767. Levi (Jr) has a son named Larken...in fact look below for a list of Levi's children...I suspect that there is a document somewhere that will link Levi Pennington, son of Micajah, with Levi, son of Levi. It should list the rest of Levi Sr.'s children as well. It might clear up some problems with the other PRA groups in the region of Ashe County, NC. I know that Levi was granted land...if we could somehow trace his land that might be of some help. Perhaps someone more experienced with these types of documents might be able to help...But I think that the info could help a whole lot of Pennington Researchers...Please let me know what you think...A note about Levi, Jr's children below...there are problems with two of them as far as proof of their relationship to Levi, Jr....Elijah "Coon" Pennington and Elisha "Dock" Pennington...if anyone has something to add to this info...please let me know. Most of it comes from Mary Almaroad. 3. What I do know so far is Joseph, Abel, Larkin, and Levi were Ashe Cty in 1820 census also. Joseph, Abel and Larkin were all in the 18-26 years of age range, Levi was 26-45, and Ephraim was 45+. Also, a William Pennington was given a land grant in Ashe Cty in 1803. I wish mightily that someone could give me a clue as to who was the family of Edward Pennington b about 1795 and who first is found (by me anyway) in 1820 in Ashe Cty Census with a small son under 10 and his wife, Lucinda. I next find in Watauga Cty in 1850 with Isaac and Irene still at home. He was living in 1860 in the Sorrel Creek Dist. of Watauga Cty. ----- Original Message ----- From: Carmen M. 3. Groups 6, 7, 32 Carmen, Well, it does get confusing -- there are 51 Levi's in the JFMF and I am sure that is not all - for one, Mary's grandfather is not listed. I do NOT have proof of Joshua being a son of Micajah. That reference was in the JFMF and referred only to source PP19-1, pg 18-27, wherein Vivian Pennington (Mrs. R. C. "Preach" Pennington) stated, "I still have not identified our Joshua's father. I believe his father to be Micajah Pennington, b. 1763, who was the son of Micajah I, b. 1743." I guess I do stand corrected though, since Levi (1832) was son of Joshua, and *speculated* g-son of Micajah (1763) and gg-son of Micajah (1743) Group 7 progenitor.
