Am searching for the parents of Simon SMITH b. Sept. 1777. I find a reference to him in Carlisle in 1801 when he buys a lot with a John SMITH, Jr. They were both Blacksmiths by trade. I don't know if they were related, but would assume they were. Saw somewhere the Simon SMITHs wife was named Nancy. The SMITHs stayed in Carlisle for quite a while and were all blacksmiths. Simon had a son Simon and this Simon had a son George Washington SMITH, and they were all blacksmiths in Carlisle. Will keep a eye out for your SMITH line in Lancaster as I am searching many of my lines there also. Good hunting and let me know if you ever find any reference to my Simon.
