His marriages included one of my Greenway line who married into the McClain's soon afterward. Is there a possible connection? I have an interest in Tabitha McClain who married James McCain in Madison Co., AL, in 1816, and I have wondered if John McLain might be her father. Because the John McLain above was a commissioner of some kind in Tyrer's Valley in 1779, do you suppose that he could be the same person who was land commissioner in Madison Co, AL, in about 1820?
