Hi: Saw the recent post stating that Matterstown isn't in the 1900 list. This comes as no surprise, as I mentioned in my email to you that I think it's more of a place name than a town; I don't know any real history about it offhand, other than I think you will find a lot of Matters living there in the early days. Drove down that way today because I seemed to recall that there's a road known as Matterstown road in the area, and took some photos of the road signs. If you have a fairly decent map of PA, just to give you an idea of where this is, find "Elizabethville" and go a little northwest to "Curtin." Matterstown is in between. Hope this helps. Ralph H.
