Hi Dave- might your Evan Owen have been of Welsh Quaker descent? I strongly suspect he is part of my Welsh Owen line who settled in the Welsh Tract in what is now Montgomery County, PA in the 1680s. I don't know the line of descent to your Evan Owen but I do find an earlier Evan Owen born to Robert and Rebecca Owen in 1681 in the records of Lower Merion Friends Meeting. Without looking back at my files I believe Robert Owen may have been the brother to my Joshua Owen. The family was from Merionethshire, Wales and was of royal descent traceable back to Charlemagne.
