Dick, I don't have the New Hanover records beyond 1800--but I checked my books for the surname Rumfield and found the "mother load" of Rumfelt/Rumfields in Lehigh County in the 1770s-1780s. There are 2 John P. Rumfelts in the baptismal records of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Upper Saucon Township, Lehigh County. One was born on 28 Nov. 1783 and the second one 4 July 1786. Both are the sons of John and Anna Margaretha Rumfelt--which leads me to believe that the first John P. must have died young before the second one was born. If indeed you Peleg is the son of John Philip this could well be John Philip. I checked the ship lists and only found one group of Rumfields arriving in Philadelphia. Jacob Rumfiel and Hendrick Romfield arrived on the St. Andrew Galley on Sept. 12, 1734. Catrina Romfiel and Catrina Margaret Romfiel were also passengers on this same ship. I don't know where they settled and how they tie into the later Lehigh County Rumfields but the name is not all that common--so it may well all tie together. Hope this helps some. Joan
