June, usually when the *tradition* gets passed down in a family that they are Pennsylvania Dutch there is some truth to this. Your Isaac could still have been born in NY and HIS parents have been from PA though. You need to consider all options. Most of the true PA Dutch were already in PA prior to the Revolution (although a few arrived a bit later). Joan
