Hi Bret, I am not sure I understand your question. FTM is a program and PAF 4 is a program. You can transfer information from one program to another via a ged.com file. It is sort of like having two VCR's (Programs)with memory connected to one TV(your computer). Think of FTM as being one VCR and PAF 4 as the other VCR. and the ged.com file as a VCR "tape". You can move the tape form one machine to the other but you can not make the FTM VCR remote control play the PAF 4 VCR. In the same line. you can take the VCR "tape" (ged.com file) to your neighbors house but if they don't have a VCR (a FTM, PAF 4 or some other program) you won't be able to view the information on their TV (computer) If that does not answer your question.
