The history of the piece of land known today as Franklin Co. goes like this: 1728- Indian territory (PA only Bucks,Phila. and Chester Counties) 1729- Included in Lancaster Co. which was erected in this year PA now expanded to 4 counties. 1750- Became part of Cumberland Co. which was erected this year. (at this time Cumberland Co. extended to what is now the Ohio border. 1785- Franklin Co. became a new PA county by name.
