    1. RE: Town of Irwin (aka Irwin Station), Westmoreland County, PA
    2. Irwin is near Greensburg, about a 45 minute drive from downtown Pittsburgh (today). It's just off the Pennsylvania turnpike. (Rolling Rock beer is made in Latrobe, near there!) My parents' friends lived in Irwin and I visited there a lot when I was younger (in the 60's and 70's). There was a lot of farmland, but no rivers that would have caused any trouble like the Johnstown floods. There are also no ports near there, unless one counts Pittsburgh as a port.... - Jeff R ---------- > From: Dgin4Roots@aol.com > To: PENNA-DUTCH-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: Town of Irwin (aka Irwin Station), Westmoreland County, PA > Date: Tuesday, November 11, 1997 12:05AM > > Can anyone tell me if there are any records of train passengers going into or > out of Irwin, PA for the years 1887 through 1889? > > Also, I believe this railroad goes to Pittsburgh, it that correct?
