    1. FRANK, Church CD's?
    2. Janice A. Frank
    3. People - I have seen advertised two different CD's of Pa German church records. Does anyone have these or have an opinion on whether they are worth buying? (about $30 each I think, one from FTM and one something else). I am about at the end of my rope on Greatgrandfather Penrose FRANK. I *finally* got his death certificate (he had confused things by dying in Ohio although he is buried in Erie, Pa). Guess what. All the stuff I need to know is filled out 'Unknown.' What I do know is this: He was born, according to his army discharge, in Elizabethtown, PA in 1844. He served in the Civil War in the 84th Pa Volunteers. On Nov 18, 1868, he married Mary E. SCHULTZ. I don't know where she was from but it was probably around there somewhere since this was before he started his *real* wanderings. They lived in Middletown for a while, where their first three sons were born. He is in the Eastern PA census index for 1870, I don't know exactly where. By about 1880 he had moved to Erie in the opposite corner of the state. His mother may have been born on Oct 27, 1806, and she may have been a KELLER. Or it may have been Mary SCHULTZ (or SHULTZ) mother who was a KELLER. I *cannot* find anything about who his parents were and I thought maybe if I had those church records for the whole area I could catch him getting baptized or married or something (probably not just being a member; I have a distinct impression that the FRANKS were never much into religion). Or does anyone have another suggestion? Anything at all? I know one can ask people to look things up, but one has to know what to ask them to look for, and where, and I don't. -- jan <janiceaf@ix.netcom.com> Researching names: FRANK, KELLER, LUPHER/LUPFER, PENROSE, SCHULTZ, TAYLOR
