Dear Joan I am one of those who joined yesterday via the Rootsweb connection. Anyway are you trying to trace back the Wismers IN Pa and find out what their life was like OR trace back to Switzerland? There is a a hstorical center in that neck of the woods that focuses on Mennonite genealogy. I am sure the director (Joel Alderfer)would be able to help you- I can get you their address later this afternoon. Its too early to remember the name of it BUt I could give you excellant directions !! smile.Just to save you some confusion IF you dont know much about that area but Bucks and Montgomery Counties border each other -. also there is a magazine called Family Mennontie History that focuses on genealogy. Its put out by Lois and ??? forget HIS name Mast in the Lancaster Co. Pa area. If I remember they mention the Wismers also. Ok enough for now - have to get to work. By the way I am desperately (sort of) trying to find out info on my original (the one who never made it to America) ??? ? Horst married to Barabara Horst. I have HER info but there is zilch on him. Its like he appeared out of nowhere married her -produced 3 children and dropped out of sight. Any Horst cousins etc that I have been in touch with have had the same problem.. SOOO if you have any ideas or info you could help us out a lot!! Also I have lived in Pa for most of my life where most Pa Dutrch lived i.e. Lancaster-Reading-Johnstown=Franconia etc. So anyone wanting info on any of those areas or who wants to get in touch with someone - I could maybe help out Shirley
