    2. I've been searching my bookmarks and files for the information on Pennsylvanians to Canada pre-Revolutions. Unfortunately, I cannot find the specific page I would like to recommend. This is what I remember reading: The area called the Palatine was visited by William Penn to procure volunteers to populate Pennsylvania. This area encompassed the many small states, duchys, etc., as described in a previous post. Because of wars in this area and inclement weather, crops were poor, and the area was in economic disaster. The English sovereign funded transportation for emigrants whom Penn signed up. When the Revolution was imminent, many felt loyalty to the English for supplying the means for a new life. They remained loyal to the English. Also, there were early forays from Ontario into NY and PA which is part of French & Indian War history. The site below has some of that history and many links to more information - one I found most interesting is 'Blacklist of Pennsylvania' which lists those who remained loyal to the British. http://wwnet.com/~treesrch/wyoming.html Another site which has a lot of links is InGeneas - a Canadian site similar to Ancestry.com.
