Margaret, I have been searching for info on NORMA EMILY MYERS. I know she married JOHN SHANE,know one knows what happened to him. Then she married JAKE BUCHANAN. This is the grftr my dad remembered. My grdmtr was born in York, Pa. 1887 so I assume they lived close to there, although I have not found any SHANE that did. JOHN and NORMA child: Bertha m. John KELSALL Maurice ? Nellie ? Mabel ? Elizabeth b. 7-26-1887, d. 4-30-1974 in Media m. Herbert George KELSALL ( broth to John) Not sure if mother was Norma, but Jake had 2 daut. Martha m. Bill STRONG Gladys m. While we are new to this site, we have noticed an immediate mistake that is being made in peoples search for their German ancestors. The original German surnames have been anglesized and need to be put back in their original form. Examples: SHANE = Schoen SHENK = Schenck MYERS = either Meyer or Maier or Mayer KELSALL = most likely Keltzel Margaret's Generation No. 4. JOHN 1 would have been Johann or Johannes (John is strictly English and not German) What you have to remember when these people arrived in Philadelphia the immigration officials were English and wrote down what they thought the name the heard should be spelled like. We may be wrong, so just ignore this posting.
