Steve, saw your post and was surprised to see one of my distant relatives marrying one of your Oberlin's. Mary Margaret "Eve" Ensminger b Feb 21 1774 d c1812. Margaret as she appears in my records by Raymond Martin Bell who has traced the Ensminger family back into the 1500's. Wish someone had traced the rest of my relatives so thoroughly. Good luck on your quest. Hazel - Hey, we're all related somehow. "Eve" Ensminger was quite a lady, and a pioneer, one of the first to re-locate from Penn to Ohio. According to family histories I've read, the couple really was known as Adam and Eve. In Ohio, the Freys, Hartmans, Oberlins, and Ensmingers all knew each other and intermarried like rabbits. Also the Mowrys. Hi Hazel and all - This discussion has now mentioned two of my very far back names, so here goes: I have Anna Margaretha ENSMINGER m John WOLFESBERGER - no dates but both probably b ca 1700 - are these in your data? And then their daughter Catherine WOLFESBERGER m Jacob FREY - again no dates, perhaps 1730s or so? Sorry to sound so ignorant, but in this area, I am. Grateful for any enlightenment you can supply.
