As the Indians left the eastern counties of Philadelphia and Chester where they had been treated fairly and lived in harmony with the white settlers there was some kind of agreement in the new territories - something like how far a man could travel in one day's time was granted - really the Indians were cheated and resented the more inland white settlers claims to more land than they should have received. I don't remember the details, but they should be easy to find on the net.
