I AM STILL CONFUSED ! I AM LEON CLEMMER WHO IS YVONNE ?
My 4great grandfather, Sebastian HERLEMAN emigrated from Germany. He arrived in Philadelphia on the ship Molly on 16 Oct 1741. His first location was near the village of Trappe in then Philadelphia County. On the passenger list, the captain indicated that the passengers were all Palatines. My goal is to find the location of the town in Germany where he lived prior to emigration. I am hopeful that someone on this list either recognizes the name (spelled Hexleman on the passenger list) or may know one or more of the other passengers on this voyage and may be able to advise me of their location prior to this emigration. He is believed to have been single upon arrival and married shortly thereafter. His first two children were baptized in the Augustus Evangelical Lutheran Church in Trappe in 1742 and 1747. In 1859 he moved to York County, purchased a 213 acre plantation and lived there until his death in 1794. I am very new at this and would appreciate any help or advise to assist me in this search. Thanks in advance. Thom in CA

Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

He sure is Leon. Yvonne
Who is Yvonne? Is the Heinrich Frey who we celebrate at the Hugonaut and Bertolet's the same as yours? Leon Clemmer Bertolet Association
I am trying to find out information concerning Adam Brenizer and his wife Eve who (I believe) lived in York County at the time of the 1800 and 1810 US censuses. He was born around 1770 in Lancaster County or Cumberland County PA and later moved to Baltimore County, Maryland. His name might have been Jacob Grau and he just translated it, although I admit that is straight German; it is possible that the Holland Dutch form could be a little different, I am not quite sure. Reply to Sandra Gray: Your "brick wall" is the fact that your James GRAY if he was born in Holland would not have an English Given and Surname. There is no JAMES in either Dutch or German given names. Might be Johannes. Also there is no surname of of GRAY in either of those countries. A possibility might be GRAU which when translated means GRAY (a color). You are looking "Where do I go from here to find his birth record." Whose birth record are you trying to find? If "James Gray" (which was not his Holland name) was born in 1803, you first have to establish what the correct Dutch name his was. Then the Holklkand most likely was Holland. The dialect they used, plus the fact that "James" could talk no English in Dutch sounded lilke that. Your first order of research will be to find just what his Dutch name was when he left Holland. Good Luck. I hate use the list for virus stuff, but Badtrans is still with us. Here are the details of my reception of an attachment containing Badtrans about an hour ago. From: Ralph Tewksbury Subject: Re: Re: [PENNA-DUTCH] GRAY surname (Note the double Re:) Attachment: README.TXT.pif Action: Stored a file named "W32.Badtrans.13312@mm" in my Local Settings folder. Infected file was recognized immediately by Norton Antivirus. The message did not even appear in my inbox. But Norton was unable to repair it. Instead I chose to quarantine it and deleted the infected file. Important: This had the list name in the Subject line, but it did not come through the list. (List Owner please confirm that the listserver will not distribute attachments.) If you get what looks like a Rootsweb message with an attachment, you may have a virus attached. We cannot go through life deleting all attachments, but we certainly can delete attachments on messages from Rootsweb. Also be 100% suspicious of attachments made to look like a document (README.TXT) but with an additional executable extension--pif in this case. Hal Stitt KNAUFF/WALLIS/WALLACE

I am searching for the Bannon family. Frances Bannon, born 1833 in York, PA. Her father was Henry, b 1810. Many thanks, Pam Fergusson
My guess is that Holklkand = Holland, and Amsterdam = Amsterdam. Therefore, he was probably born in Amsterdam, Holland. Make sense? I apologize to any of you who will see this message more than once, but I am just recently back out of the hospital yet again and am trying to determine if I may have gotten bumped from any lists due to backed up e/mails. Sorry to bother you. Bill
Dick Creps./.. Probably just a very long shot, but I graduated from Springfield, Ohio Community Hospital School of Nursing (Clark County) in 1963, and there was a Pat Krebs (Patricia?) I believe one year ahead of me in training, she would have graduated in 1962... I have no idea where she went or what her married name might be.... might check Springfield telephone book for Krebs, I have one if you would like me to look. Kathleen Manley
