Here is my other Leib line I promised you all from the immigrant Ulrich Leib down to my father Robert Earling Myers. Ulrich Leib arrived in Phila. in 1727 on the Ship Molly and settled in Lancaster County, PA. He was a Swiss Mennonite listed in the tax lists for Friesenheim, in the Palatinate as Ulrich Leip. This town is 5 miles north of Ludwigshafen, Germany on the West Bank of the Rhine directly opposite Mannheim on the East Bank. There is a Hans Leip on these lists also in Friesenheim and the entry for Hans says: "Hereditary tenant of the honorable court's treasury. Has his own house and farm. Well-to-do." Other Lancaster County, PA names on this list include: Musselman, Heistand, Gerber, Steiner, and Beer. Sylvia: We all thank you for your offer. Please do the best you can with my surname. The reason is that I am not sure what it is. We spell it EFAW pronounced Efall or something like that. So any thing in the E"s that might be construed as a corruption or another possibility FAW or Afaw, Phau. I have also seen Efa, Effha and the list goes on. The oldest I have is David either Efaw(U) or David Efaugh in the army in 1783 and said he was born in PA. I understand its a weird one but I do appreciate anything at all. bob e

My father was George Wm. Strum, born May 7, 1884, in Washington, DC. His father was Gustave P. STRUM, born in Stockholm, Sweden, and his mother was Janie Naylor, born 1861 in DC. My grandfather's original name was Gustave Peterson Soderstrom, but he change it to Strum when he came to American around 1970 and was naturalized (I don't know when.) He had a brother, George Soderstrom who was born and died in Sweden. I know everything about my father, George W Strum and his family since his birth. It is my Swedish ancestors that I am seeking. The Strums moved to Pittsburgh and Gustave is buried there. My father and grandfather were both topographical engineers and helped draw the plans for the Panama Canal. Here is my ancestor outline from Hans Leipp of Beggingen, Switzeland down to my grandfather, Charles Alan Ray Myers. I have a second Leib line indicated on this chart in generation 8 in which Samuel Hoffheins married Harriet Leib. This line traces back to the immigrant ancestor Ulrich Leib a Swiss Mennonite who settled in Lancaster County, PA. Ulrich Leib emigrated in 1727 on the Molly, while Johannes Leib emigrated in the same year on the William and Sarah--with both men settling for a time in Lancaster County. I will send the other LEIB descendency chart separately at a later time. I don't know if the two lines are connected in any way--probably not.
