    1. [PENNA-DUTCH-L] Notice to Hotmail subscribers
    2. Sorry to post this to the entire list but I have lost track of just which subscribers are involved here. Some time ago I sent a note to all Hotmail subscribers to our lists who were receiving Digests to let them know that Hotmail was having serious problems handling list digests and they were not arriving in a readable manner. At that time I manually changed all Hotmail list subscribers from Digest to mail mode. I have now received notice that Hotmail has fixed the digest problem. If anyone who is subscribed with Hotmail would like me to put them back on Digest mode and remove them from mail mode they may contact me privately. Thanks! Joan

    2. Ann Rickard
    3. Vicki, The ancestor of the surname HOWERTER of Northumberland Co., PA was Adam HOWERTER of Montgomery Co., PA. His early church records are in Trappe in the "Swamp" Church. Three of his daughters married brothers named WEARY. They all lived in Northumberland (and maybe Schuylkill) county. Records for these families can be found on-line under "Howerter Church" of Northumberland Co. Think the official church name was St. Jacob's. My GG-grandfather John WEARY married Susanna HOWERTER, dau. of Adam. These people were Evangelical Lutheran. There was a Michael BAUGHMAN, lived in Manheim Twp. Lancaster Co., PA whose wife was Catherine. His will, written 1755 named their children as Anna, Michael, Jr., Christian, John, Elizabeth, Barbara, Lissey, Veronica, Magdelena, and Peter. These kids intermarried with the surnames of WHITMORE or WITMER, STEINER, HERR, HERSHEY, STONER, SEGRIST, LESHER, and GILBERT. Other surnames from Veronica include HIESTAND, NESBITT, SNIVELY, BRIDENBAUGH, HORST and SMITH. This branch left Lancaster Co., PA and went south to Washington Co., MD and to Ohio and Indiana. Some descendants ended up in North Carolina and VA. Many of these people were Dunkers. Turned out not related to me. Hope this helps. I assumed windmills and wooden shoes, until just a few years ago. Grandpa died in 1972 and now I have many questions to ask and he isn't here to answer. Names he never told me, but I have researched and found anyway are: HINDERLITER - Berks Co., Pa. HOWERTER - Northumberland Co., Pa. MARKLEY - Sommerset Co., Pa. BAUGHMAN - Shenandoah Valley, Va. SAGER - Shenandoah Valley, Va. FLETCHER, HODKINSON, WAGERLINE/WEIGHLEY, BASTERS/BASTRUS, PARSLEY, MALLARD, WALTHER I would like to share information with anyone also researching these names. Thanks, Vicki Smith ==== PENNA-DUTCH Mailing List ==== Welcome to our list! We are always friendly here.

There are many other branches that I also have information about but cannot connect to at this time. 1. [PENNA-DUTCH-L] SURNAME LIST
    2. Hello, Whenever I asked my Grandfather what nationality he was, all he would say was DUTCH. Thanks, Vicki Smith

    2. I too am looking for Muth's. The line I am searching is Daniel B. (1844 - 1914), Archibald Daniel (1891 - 1966), Earl L. (1913 - 1990). I do think I know all their siblings (from family bible) and the closest we come to a William is Archie's brother Harvey William born 1896 & generally called Harvey, so at least at this level I do not think there is a connection for you, but I do not know Daniel's parents not the wives & children of his siblings nor the children of Archie's siblings, so there is lots of room for possibility here. This family was primarily in the Schnectsville area, through 1920s or so but dissipated throughout the Lehigh Valley over the years I am told, though Archie lived the last 20 yrs or so in New Smithville area in Berks County. Families - MUTH, RINGER, SALEM Good luck. Keep me in mind if you do find a connection. [email protected]
