It seems that there are still some out there who are not familiar with GenConnect and I received several requests for additional information about what GenConnect is and what is does. So here is a bit more information. Also I want to add that the full address for subscribing to the new GENCONNECT-HELP list in Digest mode is: [email protected] GenConnect is an automated query management system, and archiver of information. Not only do visitors see their queries posted right away, but the messages are also threaded, meaning someone can post a message in response to a previously posted query. Each GenConnect board is indexed not only with the GenConnect Global Search Engine, but also with Surname Helper. This means that a search can be made within the complete GenConnect system as well as other sources outside of GenConnect. For those who haven't seen GenConnect before and would like to, the URL for the main index page is: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/index.html Joan M. Young
Hi Sam, Yes, I have info. on the Fryburgers. They had several different ways of spelling their name it seems. My Fryburgers settled in Clermont Co., Ohio (near Cincinnati) . I'm sure some of them could have gone to other areas in the midwest. Don't you think? If you think we might connect, let me know and we can share more info. Ginger in Az.
Announcing a new mailing list: GENCONNECT-HELP-L. This list has been created to help answer questions for the users of the GenConnect Boards and to help those who are not yet familiar with the Boards learn how to use them effectively and correctly, and learn how to search using the Surname Helper search engine. You must be subscribed to the list to post messages to it. To subscribe send a message to: [email protected] and put "subscribe" (without the quotes) in the body of the message and leave the subject blank. If your email program requires a subject, put subscribe in there also. If you wish to subscribe in digest mode follow the above instructions only send your request to: GENCONNECT-HELP-D-request. Thanks! Joan M. Young

Hi, I am new to the list. I am searching for information about my Great Great Grandmother Caroline "Carrie" (YOST) HAMILTON, HAWLEY. She was born in Port Carbon, PA April 12, 1852 and died June 15, 1952 in Oakland, CA. She was one of 13 children and as a young girl went to live with the Evenson family as a helper. I am searching for the names of her parents and siblings. Or any information about the Evenson family who were soap manufactures. The Evenson family may also be the Evens family.Any help would be wonderful. Thank you in advance for your time and effort in this matter.
