There are 2 wills, for Blattenberger, in the Harrisburg courthouse. One for a John Blattenberger, D-023 1813, and one for a Mary Blattenberger E-260 1839. This name is scarce, so I think they may hold some clues to your lines??? Bill

    1. [PENNA-DUTCH-L] new RootsWeb HTML Threaded archives
    2. I alluded to a new improved RootsWeb threaded HTML archives some time ago that is still in beta testing (so it isn't all prettied up yet for the public). They didn't want us to make it public at that time, but have now sort of given the go- ahead to release the URLs to the public. Not all lists are archived as yet with this new archiver. The new archive only has the PADUTCHGENONLY and PENNA-DUTCH list messages archived beginning with the creation of this archives earlier this year (there are plans to add all the past list messages later and eventually this will replace the current archiving method). Please note that the URLs ARE case sensitive. Have fun trying them out by going to: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/archives/PADUTCHGENONLY-L/ http://archiver.rootsweb.com/archives/PENNA-DUTCH-L/ Now you will see why the subject of your message is so very important to find what you are looking for in the new archives. Please remember to use a meaningful specific subject--especially true for DIGEST subscribers--please replace the DIGEST # heading with something that reflects the thread you are discussing. Thanks! And enjoy! I think you will find these archives to be a vast improvement over the text based archives we now have. Joan

South Temple , Suite 4 Salt Lake City , UT 84111 website ; www.censusmicrofilm.com e-mail ; [email protected] and ; [email protected] I was lured to order several microfilm copies from this company with "guarantees" of "speedy delivery" and "low price" . My order was placed in October of 1998 and as of this posting I have not received the order or a refund after numerous contacts with Steven Jensen at this firm . In his occasional replies he repeatedly gave false information to me as to the status of the order and cashed the check when mentioned stopping payment on it .I have copies of all documents and correspondences for those interested . Complaints have been filed with the Better Business Bureau and the United States Postal Inspectors , they have informed me that even they can't order this company to give a refund , but may seek criminal charges . I guess small claims court is next . If you are seeking genealogy resources......consider my experiences with this "Firm". 2. robert efaw
    3. My apologies to all: I seem to have given the impression that I have a listing of names that settled in the MONOCACY area. I do not. The information I posted was from a book, and all this person said was that 100 families, no names, settled there and later appx 1000 more came. I understand from some of the mail I received that some moved on to the Winchester area and some on down to the Carolina's. To make amends I do have a book about Swiss settlers who came here in the 18th century. Also I had belonged to an Org. called "Palatines to America". In some of their mailings they list some of the early German Settlers. I can look up some lookups. As usual there was nothing for me nor any idea what nationally we are. bob e
