Hello Folks!!!! I am looking for information on Henry Lushbaugh. I am looking for siblings or parents. I have listed below the events that occurred in his life to the best of my knowledge at this time. Henry married Catharine (Caty) Keffer but any more information than that is unknown about their marriage. I am also looking for information on Johann Conrad Lorsbach. I would like to make a clarification about something. The information that I have is that Henry was born in Northumberland County BUT I suspect that to be wrong. I suspect Johann Conrad Lorsbach to be his father. I know that Johann Conrad was in Pennsylvania County (an area that is now Montgomery County) between 1748 - 1756. So if Johann Conrad is his father then he would have been born in Pennsylvania County NOT Northumberland. I am posting the information I have flawed or otherwise. Data on Henry Lushbaugh: 1751 Born Northumberland, Pennsylvania 1776 Sept. 28- enlisted with the 12th Pennsylvania Regiment of the Continental Line under Col. William Cooke 1820 Resided in Lycoming, Pennsylvania 1822 Sinnamahoning Valley at First Fork (about 5 miles south of Wharton) ???? Went up the Susquehanna River founded a place called "Lushbough's Landing" he was a Shoemaker Died aft 1834 1835 requested pension in Lycoming 1844 resident taxpayer in Elk County, Gibson Township. (This could be Henry, Jr.) Data on Johann Conrad Lorsbach (also went by Conrad Lorsbach): 1722, Dec. 9 Lamperheim Germany Johann Conrad Lorsbach is born to Johann Henrich Lorsbach a parson and his wife Anna Christina. 1728, Aug. 31 Johann Conrad's Father dies. 1729 Sept. 16 Germany Johann Conrad Lorsbach acted as Godfather (at the age of 7) for the family of Johann Georg Hauck 1729 Johann Conrad's Mother remarries. Married Johann Wilheim Bechtold. 1731 Johannes Lorsbach dies (Johann Conrad's Grand Father) 1735 Johann Conrad's Mother dies. 1736 First Admission to Holy Communion 1746 Johann Wilhelm Bechtold dies. 1748, Nov. 17 Herb, Susanna, and Johann Conrad Lorsbach (Record of Pennsylvania Marriages Prior to 1810 Volume 1 Marriage Record of the Reformed Church, Falkner Swamp, Montgomery County, PA, 1748-1800) 1748, Nov. 17 Herb, Susanna, and Johann Conrad Lotsbach (Record of Pennsylvania Marriages Prior to 1810 Volume 1 Marriage Record of the Reformed Church, Falkner Swamp, Montgomery County, PA, 1748-1800) 1749, Oct. 16 In the "Pennsylvania Berichte" (Sowers Newspaper) an ad of Johann Conrad Lorsbach living "near the stone church" in Old Goshenhoppen. 1756, Feb. 2 - Conrad Lorsbach acted as a Witness to the will of Jacob Hauck. I know you are all aware of the tragic shooting incident at the Family History Library this afternoon and I know you will all join me in praying for the families of those involved. One note of caution about something I have just witnessed on another list. Someone posted a copyrighted new article to the list on this subject. I am looking for evidence of a birth that occurred on March 25, 1818, possibly in Montgomery Co. Peleg M. RUMFIELD was born on this date in PA. I think there is a possibility that his parents were (John) Philip Rumfield and Rosina Minner. This couple belonged to the New Hanover Lutheran Church in Montgomery Co. Rosina died in January of the following year. Her death was reported in the UNABHAENGIGER REPUBLIKANER newspaper on January 23, 1819. I believe that Philip remarried and moved to Ohio by the 1820 census when he appears in Jefferson Co. He lived in Ohio until his death in 1857, though he moved several times during this period. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have much information to share on this family in PA, Ohio and Texas. Dick Sommer Stillwater, MN [email protected]

Dick, I don't have the New Hanover records beyond 1800--but I checked my books for the surname Rumfield and found the "mother load" of Rumfelt/Rumfields in Lehigh County in the 1770s-1780s. There are 2 John P. Rumfelts in the baptismal records of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Upper Saucon Township, Lehigh County. One was born on 28 Nov. 1783 and the second one 4 July 1786. Both are the sons of John and Anna Margaretha Rumfelt--which leads me to believe that the first John P. must have died young before the second one was born. If indeed you Peleg is the son of John Philip this could well be John Philip. I checked the ship lists and only found one group of Rumfields arriving in Philadelphia. Jacob Rumfiel and Hendrick Romfield arrived on the St. Andrew Galley on Sept. 12, 1734. Catrina Romfiel and Catrina Margaret Romfiel were also passengers on this same ship. I don't know where they settled and how they tie into the later Lehigh County Rumfields but the name is not all that common--so it may well all tie together. Hope this helps some. Joan
Hi, Gordon- If you have not already checked our PADUTCH GenConnect Query Board you might want to do so. I know there are queries posted involving at least one of the surnames you have listed in your message. Check the Surname List you can link to from the Query Board itself. The Query Board can be found at: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Pa/Dutch Joan
Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to reply to my post about William Lynch. Its been a real struggle getting to know him. Sincerely, Gordon Lynch
Hello, I am researching my gg grandfather, William Lynch, who was born on the line between Lancaster Co., PA and MD, in 1829. I do not know his parentage. He stated that he was taken to NY at the age of 3. He grew up in Madison Co., NY, and went on to WI, MN, IA, MO. Census records state that his parents were born in MD. Grateful for any information about any Lynch family in this area. Other surnames that may indicate a relationship are: Lingenfelter, Fenstermaker, Coon, Yetter, Simmions. Thank you, Gordon Lynch
In what is now Grant County, WV east of Petersburg along Jordan Run there are 5 or 6 cemeteries. There are no Churches shown on my map, just cemetery's. Would anyone have any listing for any of them? Sorry I have no names. They all appear to be on the west side of the Run in Monongahelia Forest. bob e
Rosina Rumfeld (Minner) died in Montgomery Co. (Middletown) in January of 1819. The death was reported in the UNABHAENGIGER REPUBLIKANER on January 23, 1819. I would be very interested in knowing the contents of this notice. I don't know if it is in the form of an obituary, or simply a death notice. This woman and her husband Philip RUMFELD, may be my ggggrandparents. Their Marriage is recorded at the New Hanover Lutheran Church (Falckner Swamp) in Montgomery Co. as 11/23/1806. My gggrandfather Peleg M. RUMFIELD was born in PA in March of 1818. I have been unable to connect him with his parents. Any help would be appreciated. Dick Sommer Stillwater, MN [email protected]
Herbert - are you addressing me? I think we may have corresponded before. I have lots of information on the descendants of Hans Jacob Frank, b in Sinsheim in 1714, arrived in Philadelphia in 1739. The family were in Philadelphia and Lancaster (my branch) for several generations. I also have scattered bits and pieces of information on various other FRANK families that turned out not to be connected as far as I know. What do you want to know? I know this is a rehash of a previously discussed subject and I appologize for bringing it up again. I lost my bookmarks and would like to get the address' for the online look up sites for the FTM CD's or for that matter any other good sites. Someone once posted the translation of old diseases and their current names as well as old jobs and a description as to what they are things like that. I would appreciate it if some one could forward me that sort of thing privately. Thank you; Bob [email protected]

I have added a new feature to the GenConnect Boards that serve our 3 PADUTCH mailing lists. I think you will find it easier to navigate from one board to another since I have added links between all the PADUTCH boards. In other words if you know the URL for the Query Board, you can access the non-query boards from the Query board using the links. The query board is located at: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Pa/Dutch The non-query boards are for posting documents such as: Bible Records, Biographies, Deeds, Obituaries, Pensions, and Wills. It is nice to see the full text of these documents listed on the board for archiving and for the future free access of genealogists for their private research, but abstracted material is also welcome. Think about posting your family documents that pertain to your PADUTCH ancestors on the document boards to safely record them and archive them. Remember that the material you post to GenConnect boards, unlike some other forums, will never be sold or used for profit by others. You retain any copyright to original materials you may post to our GenConnect Boards. If you have any questions about the proper boards for posting PADUTCH family documents, or how to post the information, please contact me privately. Thanks and enjoy the newly added links! Joan
