Were they related to HENRY/HENDRICK RATZ/REITZ, who arrived in Philadelphia 9-16-1751?? Or Henry RATz who arrived 9-30-1854, on Good ship Edinbugh? 1. [PADutch] Holley/Holly/Hawley/Hulley/Hooley's moved from PA to Ontario, Canada
    2. Gordon Holley
    3. We understand that a group of Holley/Holly/Hawley/Hulley/Hooley's moved from Pennsylvania, possibly Somerset County, to York and Peel Counties in Ontario in the late 1700s and early 1800s. Specifically, I am trying to find the parents/siblings/ancestors of Adam Holley (circa 1811 PA - 1892 ON). Adam was on the 1837 census in Ontario, but not before. We understand from family rumour that he was Pennsylvania Dutch. I would be very interested in any other information you have and would be willing to share about any Holley/Holly/Hawley/Hulley/Hooley families in Ontario prior to 1900. Please let me know if you have any information about these families. Thank you in advance for your help. I should also mention that we have just started a specific e-mail discussion group/web site for people interested in these families at http://www.egroups.com/group/CANHolleyFamilyTree If you are interested in any of these family trees, please stop by the site and take a look at the queries and responses that have been posted so far and see if you can add anything. Also, if you reply to this e-mail, I will send you an invitation to join the group. Cheers, Gord Holley

    1. [PADutch] Charlie Martin, Susquehannok Indian, Pa 1800's
    2. I am searching for the father of Carrie M. Martin, born in Lampeter Twp., PA, in the late 1800's. I have very limited info on my grandmother, Carrie Martin. I have located her on the 1900 Census, and accordong to the Census, she was a servant. According to my father, she was orphaned at a young age, and basically farmed out to work for other families. According to one of my cousins, Charlie Martin, Carries father, was a Susquehannok indian orphan, who was taken in by the Martin Family. There was also mention that he had been married to a woman by the name of Amelia Urban. After that, I haven't a clue. I know this is sketchy info, but it is all I have to go by. Thanks. 1. [PADutch] Chester Co. Family
    2. Hi, I am new to the list and I would like some help. John Folkerth, the first Mayor of Dayton, Ohio, states in his bible that he was born in Chester Co. Pa. in 1774. It also states that his parents were Christopher Folkerth and Pamelia Rafesnider. I need to know when they got married. In 1813 Christopher died in Frederick Co. Maryland leaving a will and naming his wife as Margaret. When and Where did Pamelia die and when did he marry Margaret? John was the fourth son of Christopher. His older brothers were Michael, William and Henry. His younger brother was Samuel (my Line) and he had a sister named Catherine. Were the three older brothers born in Chester co. as well? They changed their names several times between Folkerth, Fulkerth, Fulker. The name Volkert or Folkert may be one of their names too. The reason I say this is because from Germany we find a Hieronymus Volkert with a son Christopher born about the same time as the Maryland Christopher. Could they be the same? I would appreciate any help. Barbara

    1. [PADutch] Anne Funk and Martin Kurtz
    2. Keith Kurtz
    3. I have received information from two different people who say the Anne married to Martin Kurtz was Anne Funk. Looking for the Marriage of these two people around the year 1780, Probably in a Lutheran Church in Lancaster or York County, PA. His father and mother where married in York County and then his father married his stepmother in Lancaster County. It has also been reported that one of his children was born in MD. No county was given, but imagine it was a border county with PA. Keith _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
