Hi Kate Afraid I know nothing beyond Elijah's baptism at Alfold in 1801, which was passed on to me by someone else (sorry can't remember who off the top of my head, but he was descended from Elijah. There was another Elijah bap. 1808 (I think) at Wisborough Green. His parents were also George and Jane but I don't think they would be the same ones. I suspect they were related, however, this may even be the Elijah who was a witness at his second wedding. I am wondering wheter your Elijah may have been the youngest of his generation and George of Wisb. Gr. possibly an older brother. I believe the Mary Penfold who married Richard Standing at Alfold in 1827 may be Elijah's sister (she was sent to Brighton by the parish when pregnant with her illegitimate daughter - Mary Ann bap. Alfold 1826). Have you any clues from Elijah's Brighton connection? Sorry I can't help further Best wishes Julie kburns wrote: > > Hello Julie, > > I was interested to see you where you place Elijah PENFOLD of Banstead > who is one of my relations.
