Hi John This is not my line but I have been in correspondence with others, including Kate who are descended from that line and a lot of my info has come from them plus other research i have done. I am researching as many of the Surrey/Sussex border branches as i can (mainly 18th and early 19th century as you can see from my website). I believe they are all ultimately connected and am collecting clues to their links. They also appear to have connections to Lewisham and other Kent parishes (I haven't yet connected mine with the Goudhurst/Hawkhurst Penfolds and believe that may be further back in time. My line is presently stuck on Thomas of Ifield born place unknown about 1765. Possibly he is a son of William and Jane of Ifield and there are also inklings of a connection to the Worth Penfolds.
