Hello Terry, Well I finally managed to get to the Library for a few hours I looked for the death in Scone Advocate BUT the February 1897 was missing I thought it may have been in the Newcastle Morning Herald but it wasn't So I looked at the CORONERS INQUEST 1895-1901 LH Microfilm FH 929.3/ARC/ROLL 2225 INQUEST 12 March 1897 Coroner- Edward Solomons JP Held at Scone DATE-26th & 27th February John PENFOLD aged 58 Born-Epsom,England Locality of Death-Scone Hospital,Scone VERDICT- Exhaustion caused by a wound in the throat self inflicted Property or Cash-Nil Terry, the death occurred on a Thursday and Scone is about 2 hrs drive from here Regards Louise Hi Louise Many thanks for that info. The 1901 UK Census is now on line for testing purposes between 0900 and 1900 Monday to Saturdays (although give it a try outside of these times). During this period it is fully operational and accepts credit/debit card and voucher transactions. Yesterday I used it extensively for searches and also paid for additional information via credit card. I found that the searches were very quick and had no problems with the payment mechanism. Hello Leigh, I have a Rosa Penfold, Christened 26.04.1870 in Sussex. She is the daughter of Abraham and Elizabeth (nee Stoner) Penfold, and in the 1881 census of Henfield, Sussex, states that Rosa was 11 years old and was born in Woodmancote, Sussex. I have no idea what happened to her yet, wether she married etc. (busy chasing other lines) or if she ties in with your 'Rose'. Are there any witnesses on the marriage cert. that may give a tie into brothers, sisters and parents.. If you think there is a link do get back to me.
