Of the two girls--Sarah(b.1839) and Mary A (b.1841)--in the Joseph & Nancy Beck household in 1850, I had thought that Sarah, who married Josiah Rensel, was the daughter and that Mary, "H Helper" in 1860, was not. Are you saying the opposite is likely the case since Joseph was named guardian of his youngest sister, Sarah? So that Mary was likely Nancy's daughter? But Joseph also had four other sisters--Elizabeth, Eve, Mary Ann, & Leah. Elizabeth and Eve seem to be accounted for, but what about this sister Mary Ann? Is she accounted for? Also, are we both "on the same page" with George O. as the son of Joseph and Nancy? Do you have anything on George other than the censuses I've referenced? Not sure of the sources used for the data on Joseph and Nancy in the SFNA books, but suspect it was largely from some elderly family member's recollecion. Although there is reference to a family Bible owned, at one time, by a Sarah Rensel--that prompted me to think that Sarah (b.1839) was Nancy's daughter. Alvin G. Faust, b.1885, a descendant of the immigrant Clement Studebaker, spend his lifetime researching the Clement line that was published in volume I. Unfortunately, SFNA does not have his papers. Over and out for now. --Sandra Studebaker Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
