That was my assumption based on the ages, if correct, of Eve, Joseph and Nancy Studebaker as published in the 3-volume Studebaker Family in America. Am a board member of the Studebaker Family National Association with responsibility for the ongoing SFNA project to extract all genealogy data from the volumes for input into a comprehensive computer database. Lots of things come to light when doing/proofing manual data entry, e.g., the Beck - Studebaker conundrum. Am wondering if you have since clarified others said to be the offspring of Joseph & Nancy, especially Mary b. c1840 who appears as a "H Helper" in their household on the 1860 census. Especially since Joseph's 2nd wife is a "Mary A. born c1841" on the 1880 census. Obviously their two sons, Joseph and John, are incorrectly attributed to Joseph & Nancy in the SFNA volumes. Also find daughter Sarah married to Josiah Rensel/! Rentzel by 1860. Previously unknown, I find a George O. Beck, b. c1845 per the 1850 census, died Jan. 2, 1886, buried in Altland Cemetery. (The later thanks to your efforts.) George O. is easily found in both the 1870 and 1880 censuses as Oliver Beck married to--Mary A!! Who were all these Mary's? It's my wish to get this all resolved for the Studebaker Family database and future products. Anything you have turned up since your 2004 post will be much appreciated. --Sandra Studebaker Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
