(Apologies if this is a repeat post. It was returned to me as failed and I never saw it in the digests sent to me.) Based on enough circumstantial evidence, I offically acknowledge Casper Spahr as an ancestor. His eldest daughter Catharine married George Ludwig Schaeffer/Scheffer/Sheffer of Dover tp., York County. In his last will & testament abstracted below, Casper acknowledges an agreement with George "Sheavor" made in Little York. I presume this to be for Casper's land. Sundry land surveys in Dover tp. show Casper Spahr acquiring a tract of land adjoining his uncle Michael Spahr. Later surveys show this tract in the possession of said George Ludwig Schaeffer. Casper was born to his father George in Earl Township, Lancaster County, in 1739. George Spahr and most of his children later migrated to Dover tp., where his brother Michael had previously taken up land. Casper probably moved to Franklin County around 1790. His son Jacob's baptismal sponsorship of George Ludwig Schaeffer's son Jacob in 1790 is my last evidence of he or his other children in York County. Casper married Anna Margaretha (Mehl) Schettron, the widow of Abraham Schettron. This is also based on circumstantial evidence, but I would believe that most researchers, when examining the data below, would draw the same conclusion. Seeking contact with any descendant of Casper Spahr. His son Jacob's son David migrated to Cooper County, Missouri, where he was a well-known tobacconist. All Spahr's in Franklin County census records prior to 1850 can be traced to Casper; however, I have never had opportunity to do onsite research on this family in Franklin. Any assistance appreciated! (His wife, from whom he separated in 1786, allegedly died in Chambersburg in 1823; however, I have no evidence.) Data follows.....
