Some records indicate that Daniel Hoffhein was born in York county, PA in about 1805...but this is a very confusing family!!! The spelling of the last name changed often and I am not sure of the actual "correct" spelling. The father, Daniel, was born in Pennsylvania in about 1805. He married Sarah Danner (could be Donner) prior to 1828 and at least 3 of their 8 known children were also born in Pennsylvania. I don't know where in Pennsylvania..but I suspect York County. There is another Daniel Hoffhein born in York County, PA at this same time...however, the information listed in family trees for this Daniel does not match MY Daniel. I have found all of the death certificates available online for this family out of Ohio and have searched all of the census records but still cannot figure out exactly where Daniel came from or who his parents were or who the parents of Sarah Danner are. This family seems very strange in that most of the children never married...from following census records, only 3 children married, but even after 2 apparently married and had children, there is no mention of their husbands and the children and grand-children continue to remain living with Daniel and Sarah...I don't understand this. If there is anyone out there who can help with this search for information, I would very much appreciate it. I am at a loss as to where to turn next. Thank you very much for your help.
