    1. [PAYork] Bruce family
    2. Would you happen to know if any of the Bruce family migrated to North Carolina?  I have in my data base a Jacob Bruce born abt 1804 in North Carolina, parents unknown.  His father may have been named William Bruce, as his first child and son, was named William H. Bruce. By 1835/6 Jacob Bruce was in Monroe County, Missouri, where he married Eliza Ann or Ann Eliza Smith, daughter of Hugh Smith Jr., and Ann {McGee} Smith.  Jacob and Ann Eliza had children, William, Elizabeth, H.L., Mary I., Margaret and Clarinda. I do have a little more on the Bruce children if you are interested.  Any knowledge of any of the above names?   Thank You, Judy Smith/Colorado

    3. Judy - All the Bruces in family tree are on my husband's side - and they are from Massachusetts and New York. None have moved anywhere else. Sorry for not being of more help. The Bruce name is so common that research sure can be difficult - especially in New York state.
