"Chris" Warner Charles M. "Chris" Warner, 74, of 325 Brandywine Lane, Hanover, died Thursday, Aug. 10 at the Hanover General Hospital. Born in Hanover on Feb 13, 1921, he was the son of the late Elmer and Jottie Forry Warner. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nadine E. "Deanie" Warner. He was retired from P.H. Glatfelter. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and was a charter member of the Hanover YMCA. He was also a member of the Hanover VFW and the Harold H. Bair American Legion Post 14. Other memberships include the Hanover Area Historical Society, John Timon Riley Historical Society of McSherrystown, Hanover Fire Company 1 and the National AARP. He was a World War II veteran where he served aboard the U.S. Navy tanker USS Aucilla. Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Jane E. Maxim of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Burnell Warner of Littlestown, Clair Warner of Hanover, Levere Warner of Camp Hill, Robert Warner of East Berlin, and one sister, Leah Mae Smith of Hanover. Following cremation, burial will take place at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 18, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa., with military honors provided by the Lebanon Veterans of Foreign Wars. A memorial mass will be held 7:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 18 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Grandview Rd., Hanover. His pastor, Msgr. Robert C. Gribbin will serve as celebrant. There will be no viewing.
