York County Tax records up until 1850 are also on microfilm at the Pennsylvania Historical Society on Locust St. in Philadelphia. It is good to check every year for a town or township. Single men are listed and in some years orphans / poor children when the father died and the school tax were paid by the community are listed with ages.
