To all- This is NOT a matter for discussion on our PAYORK list. I would suggest that anyone who is interested get the FACTS by reading the information in the RootsWeb Newsroom at the link I previously provided. All states of the USGenWeb project did NOT move from RootsWeb -- each state and every county has always had the option of housing their pages anywhere they choose. For the record, our York County USGW page is still housed at RootsWeb as always and will remain there for the foreseeable future. The USGenWeb Archives project is a single entity and moved as a unit to another server--which, as I stated previously, is their right. We need only concern ourselves on this list with how to locate the Archives pages that have moved. What is NOT open to discussion on this list is the reason behind the move because it doesn't pertain to York County genealogical discussion. I suggest once again that people get the FACTS, if interested, and not participate in spreading rumors and inaccuracies. We all appreciate Kathy's efforts as Archives File Manger, and the efforts of everyone who contributes to the content housed in the USGW Archives. But internal issues related to the project are best handled within the project and not on our genealogy list. Thanks for everyone's cooperation in this matter. Since ancestry banners and footers were forced upon us, there were no guarantees that in the future ancestry wouldn't make the data that was freely contributed, part of the paid subscription plan. All states moved, not just PA. Kathy BRAVO! **************Wondering what's for Dinner Tonight? Get new twists on family favorites at AOL Food.
