I believe what you quoted is for Mathias's son Mathias 2nd. Mathias 1st would have been pretty old to serve. What I am probably looking for is something that proved that he contributed to the American Revolutionary cause ie. Was the land her owned used for a purpose connected to the American Revolution? Is it the land that the present York County Fair is held on? I really think that if I could figure out where he owned land and what went on there during the American Revolution, I might have proof that he was a patriot.
