Most of the tombstones (I don't know about the bodies) were moved to Prospect Hill Cemetery. This Spring there were still a few tombstones (I don't know about the bodies) behind the church. A few years ago, there were also some tombstones (I don't know about the bodies) in an unfinished area under the church. I don't know if they are still there. Supposedly, Johann Martin Weigel (11 Nov 1703 - 31 Jan 1759) was buried in the Christ Lutheran Church church-yard. However, I have never been able to locate his tombstone at either the church or Prospect Hill Cemetery. If anyone knows the location of his tombstone, please let me know. Thanks. Harold A. If I remember correctly the bodies are now under a parking lot or a building where they were originally buried. I seem to recall that the courthouse needed to expand its property and bought the space from the church (I don't recall hearing anything about the Sunday School) and that this was the reason behind the move--but I could be wrong. I looked for my ancestors there to no avail. ********* Visit the threaded archives of this list: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/PAYORK ********* Messages posted to the RootsWeb/Ancestry PAYORK Message Board are gatewayed to this Mailing List.
