Where did you find the information about them being married in Prussia? I have never found this anywhere other than in a family tree sent in by a researcher. My understanding is that Henry was a guard at the Camp Security. Isn't this where most of the German prisoners were housed? I have the information that Henry was part of the Ortt family of Lehigh Co. and I believe he married Anna Catherina Schuler based on both families living in Lehigh Co. and the naming pattern of their children. I believe Catherine was the daughter of Adam Schuler. I did find a marriage listing for Catherina in Montgomaery Co. to a Henry Ard. I believe this to be a misspelling mostly because the Ard's were county clerks during this period in that county. Also, if you look at the naming pattern of John Ortt of Lehigh Co., the naming pattern of his children are the same as Henry's. Henry's sister who lived near them in York Co. married George Ringer. Christina and George were married in Philadelphia May 1, 1754. I think the discrepency over his brother's bd is probably a mistake which i find very common in census records and other documents. If you look at John Ortt's will, he lists his children in order as Northampton Co., PA Wills 523 ORT, John Upper Milford yeoman 29-4-1785 - 7-5-1789 son Henry dau Christina wife of Geo. RINGER dau Margaret wife of Jacob ZERFINK dau Catharina wife of Jacob KALVER dau Eve wife of Geo. FLECKINGER son John dau Barbara wife of John KOCH ex Geo. FLECKINGER wit John BROBST and G. KUBEL This would put Henry as the eldest and John as the 6th child born and next to the youngest. If I could find documented proof of this family being the immigrant family I would certainly change my mind. If you can provide me with that information or at least where to look for it I would really appreciate it. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Most of the info I have is from KSGenWeb Digital Library (http://skyways.lib.ks.us/genweb/archives/atchison/bios/jgibson.htm). Jacob Gibson was born June 7, 1823 in York County, PA. and married Leah High in August 26 1851 in Clearfield County, PA. Jacob died in Atchison Ks March 15, 1900. There are 2 theories about his origin. One theory is that he was from Lehigh county. I can't really believe that one since if it was true he would have a brother that is 4 months younger than him. The other is that he and Catharina are from Siegen, Westfalen, Germany. I tend to think this is more likely. Back in the 80's when I first started studying the family history I found a microfiche record at the York Historical Society that showed he was from germany. However I failed to get a copy of it and the society no longer has those records. So I have nothing to prove my belief. If you find those please let me know! Your information mostly agrees with mine although I have different dates for Grant. However you misunderstood my initial question. I am trying to figure out who Martha Danners brothers and sisters were. I have a list of the children of Enoch and Kate Ringers children as: Lydia (Wertz) b. 05 May 1880 d. 17 Sep 1960 Martha (Ort) b. 27 Nov 1876 d. 04 Aug 1951 Jacob James A. - Killed in action during WWI Margaret Raymond (Hoppy) b. 09 Jul 1885 d. 23 May 1960 Samuel - died at birth William Henry I found that list here on another post and merged it with what data I have. However I understand Enoch had a 2nd wife that also had several children so I am looking for names and dates for them. Names I got from my mother are: Aida Arlene (Markley) Ben Mary Ellen (Wilk) Pearl (Worrell) However she wasn't entirely sure about them all. I would also be interested in information about Marlets life and family. I understand that he was raised in foster care. Do you know the name of the family? Any family lore about Annie Felty would also be interesting. I know she eventually married Henry Sipe but I have the dob for her with child with John Griffth as being 1882 while the dob for her child with Henry Sipe is 1881. She must have been an interesting woman or else I have my dates wrong. By the way my Grandfather was John F. and my mother is your cousin Emma.
