I have been watching a fraktur on eBay in the hopes that someone would bid on it. I would, but I am very distantly related. The fraktur is for Mary Jane Glatfelter, daughter of Charles Glatfelter and Eliza Bauman (daughter of Jacob). Mary Jane was born 21 July 1867 and was baptized 21 August 1867 by Rev. Peter Shearer. A check of WorldConnect finds this family. Charles was the son of Charles Glatfelter and Leah Klinedinst. He was born 25 May 1845 and died 13 July 1918. His wife, Eliza Jane Bauman, was born 19 May 1844 and died 26 April 1914. She was the daughter of Jacob Bauman/Bowman and Sarah Gantz. I am distantly related via the Gantz line. Maybe also by the Bowman line, but I don't know. The item number is 300248234201. If no one goes for it, I probably will. Vanessa

Seeking family of George Storts - Steorts - Stots born 1769. See information below. STORTS DNA PROJECT Other possible name spellings STOTS, STOTZ, STURTZ, STOTTS, STEORTS. STAATS, STAUTS, STORTZ, STORTZE, STEORTZ, AND MORE PROJECT GOALS The STORTS DNA project has the goal of connecting the related families from Germany who were in America by the 1700s with various spellings of the name including STORTS, STURTS, STOTZ, STEORTS, STORTZE, STOTTS, STOTS and others. My ancestor was George STORTS / STEORTS / STOTS born around the Hagerstown – Gettysburg area in 1769, died 1851 in Jane Lew, Lewis Co. (W)VA. According to family notes written in 1907 George’s father was also named George (possible middle name), from Germany and a Revolutionary War soldier. A well documented line with a possible connection was John Jacob STORTS, born 1763, whose family came from Germany in 1750 with spellings of STOTZ, STURTZ, and STORTS and included Peter’s sons Ludwig and Johannes Christian STOTZ who died in Nazareth, PA and Johannas Christian ‘s sons Johannes George STOTZ or STURTZ and Christian STURTZ II who died in Somerset Co. PA He was the father of John Jacob STORTS who died in New Lexington, OH. A Johannas George STOTZ was a member of the Lower Burmudian Lutheran Church near Gettysburg in 1768. Another Revolutionary Soldier was Frederick STORTS who died in 1783 or 1784 in Bedford Co. PA, now part of Fulton Co. PA. His will mentions nephew George, and nieces Charlotte and Mary, children of his brother whose name was not stated. Mary was married to Frederick’s stepson Peter Swarzwelder. Another possible connection is John STORTS who was living in Washington Co. OH near Marietta by 1820. A David STORTS lived in what is now Brooke County, WV in the early 1800s. The various families lived mostly in PA or nearby MD or VA. Please contact me if you are interested in participating in the DNA project, want to share information or know of a family who may be connected. The DNA test involves a simple swab sample from the cheek. It is through the direct male line so subjects for the test would have the last name of STORTS or some version of it. Women can ask a brother or even a distant cousin to take the test. _Lskwvhomes@aol.com_ (mailto:Lskwvhomes@aol.com) **************Looking for a car that's sporty, fun and fits in your budget? Normally in early wills the children are listed in Birth order. We know Magdalena was born in 1780. Assume the standard 2 yrs between births and we have John born 1778. John is single in the 1800 Codorus taxes meaning he is born at least 21 years earlier or by 1779.( I need to check the 1799 taxes). The sponsors for Johannes and Helena's children are: Catherine: George and Catherine Smith (His Mom and Dad) Elizabeth: Magdalena Schmidt single (His sister) Susanna: Christian Wagner and Susanna(maybe his sister) George born Dec 16, 1807 George Schmidt and wife (no doubt his brother) Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
