I don't think there is a match. My Daniel Artel was born about 1840, confirmed by Catholic Church Funeral book. His funeral was in 1899, age noted as 59. Very interested in the name Artel - we were always told it was a French name, and we spelled it Artelle. Found the Artel spelling when I found Daniel in Rigaud, Québec, Canada. I can't find the Artelle spelling, only Artel, in ancestry data banks, and rarely of French origins. Would you know about the history and origins of the name Artel? Thanks very much. This is the first reference to Trown in Sheffield I've been able to find, and I'd be interested in any information you may have found since about the Trown family, which is related to mine by marriage. You probably have found your Karl Louis Richard in the 1871 Sheffield census, married to Fanny, who I believe appears as Francis Trown in the 1861 census of the Trown family. I believe that Fanny was the sister of Hilda Mary Trown, who married my great uncle in 1892. Would like to share information. --Mary Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [PAYork] Daniel Hoffheins (or Hoffhein/Hoffhine/Hoffhines or any other spelling) b. abt 1805 maybe in York Co. PA m. Sarah Danner
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: shaslam100 Surnames: Hoffhines, Hoffhein, Hoffhine, Hoffheins, Danner, Donner Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.york/15003/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am trying to find any information on the Hoffheins/Hoffhein/Hoffhine/Hoffhines family who lived in Camden, Lorain County, Ohio from the late 1850's until at least the 1920's. Some records indicate that Daniel Hoffhein was born in York county, PA in about 1805...but this is a very confusing family!!! The spelling of the last name changed often and I am not sure of the actual "correct" spelling. The father, Daniel, was born in Pennsylvania in about 1805. He married Sarah Danner (could be Donner) prior to 1828 and at least 3 of their 8 known children were also born in Pennsylvania. I don't know where in Pennsylvania..but I suspect York County. There is another Daniel Hoffhein born in York County, PA at this same time...however, the information listed in family trees for this Daniel does not match MY Daniel. I have found all of the death certificates available online for this family out of Ohio and have searched all of the census records but still cannot figure out exactly where Daniel came from or who his parents were or who the parents of Sarah Danner are. This family seems very strange in that most of the children never married...from following census records, only 3 children married, but even after 2 apparently married and had children, there is no mention of their husbands and the children and grand-children continue to remain living with Daniel and Sarah...I don't understand this. If there is anyone out there who can help with this search for information, I would very much appreciate it. I am at a loss as to where to turn next. Thank you very much for your help. Adam Black was born January 31, 1763, married Polly Allegan(?)in 1787 and had children Elizabeth, Henry, Joseph, Adam, Alexander, Robert and Maria. Adam Black's father is said to be Henry Black. The census sheets for 1800 and 1810 show that an Adam Black lived in Cumberland Township in 1800, but was gone in 1810, as was an older Henry Black, probably his father.
