    2. The York Hert. Trust has what remains of records of the York Children's Home; you may also search the York County Records at either the York Archives or Court House for any legal documents such as child transfer records, placement or adoption. -- WolfordMigration@aol.com wrote: Frank(lin) Julius was born ca 1867. His mother was Johanna Allen and his father was Unknown. He was born out of wedlock. His father was from York PA. I know this is a long shot but I am wondering iof any Julius researchers know anything about Johanna. She subsequently married Sam Ferguson and lived in the Mountville area. Frank returned to York Co to live with his father's people. Family legend says she grew up in an orphanage in York. Any suggestions on where this might have been in 1850' early 1860's? They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located. There are 104 families from Pennsylvania that have not been located. There are three families from YorkCounty that has not been located. When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (76 years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find these families. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency. I will be grateful for any assistance in locating these families. 2. Hi Debra - Thanks for looking into Sam and Joanna Ferguson for me. I had seen that before. Her being born in New York and according to Cora McKonley (who you found in the census) grew up in an orphanage prompted me to ask if the Orphan Trains came to York. And if there are any records. That Mary Ann Ferguson age 1 in 1880 is my grandmother. We always knew her to be Anna Mable. Thanks again Jim In Dover **************A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above.
