By using Dr. Hively's map, the nearby landmark of the John Schultz house, and the 1767 warrant survey, I know the northern boundary of the Peterman plantation adjoined the southern boundary of the John Schultz farm which was sold to Daniel Brubaker in 1776. Since the southern section of Michael Peterman's property was called "dry hill" described as "a poor stony hill on which there is no water and but little timber" - the Peterman homestead, no doubt was on the northern acreage adjoining Camp Security. My question is whether all of the Peterman homestead was developed or is part of the undeveloped area referred to as the "Weist farm" area of the "Brubaker Tract" ? Does anyone know the land records for the Camp Security area who can shed some light on this question ? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 2. There is supposed to be something on page 319 of this book according to google books. The surnames are Jacob Silsen married to Lena Leitner.?? Or any John Adam Leitner pages if there is an index to him would be quite helpful It sounds like these periodicals were put together in a book form because how could a periodical go up to page 319. Thanks so much. I think you were right about the Israel in 1860 although I think "Eve" is really Phebe - it seems some of the census have incorrect names. Phebe was the mother of Elwood who was my ggrandfather. In looking at 1850 census I now think he may be the one who lived in Menallen in Adams County. How do you go about finding the wills? I am fairly new to doing the research. Visited York last month for a short weekend to do some cemetery browsing and ended up spending a couple hours at the York County Heritage Trust and want to go back in the spring for a lot longer time - they were so helpful there. Any hints on things I should look for or where some interesting information can be found? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
