More than my family has been able to collect in many years' time. I am a descendent of Margaret Tyler born to William and Leah. Myself, my uncle, and his cousin have been doing family research but have been stalled at William and Leah. I was not aware of Margaret's siblings (wonderful new sources of info!) We've found some genealogy for Leah Wilt(Wildt), but the Emmick's are not in our direct lineage. Although, I have gathered a lot of family details from Mathew and Mary's family. Awhile back there was some discussion about Neiman's Cemetery. I have had Neiman's added to the Find-A-Grave website. (For some reason Neiman's wasn't included in their list of York County cemeteries.) I have also uploaded information, and headstone photos, for 15 of my own ancestors and collaterals that are buried there. Surnames include Lauer, Bentzel, Fols, Grim, Rauhouser, and Walter. The home page for Find-A-Grave is: http://www.findagrave.com/ Click on "Search for a cemetery" on the right side of the home page and enter "Neimans" and "Pennsylvania" in the appropriate places. DO NOT include the apostrophe when writing "Neimans." Uploading your own information is easy. You can include headstone photos, personal photos and biographical information. I particularly like how you can link a person to his or her parents, spouse, and children. Pam
Greetings everyone It has been quite some time since I took the time to post here, but I wanted to now as many ideas are running through my head. Make sure you check out www.campsecurity.com as well... I have been keeping track of people who served at Camp Security, and have acquired quite a few pension records from veterans serving there as well. I would like EVERYONE who has information about a veteran who served or was held at Camp Security to post it here so I can add it to my database. Please make sure you add their name to the subject line of the message in case someone is researching that person. Thank you very much, and I hope to hear from you all soon. Blake M. Stough

Here is a link I got from Google Earth of Camp Security... http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=39.973634,-76.64187&spn=0.019733,0.034246&t=h&z=15 Note that the top of the image is north, bottom south, etc. Basically the entire surrounding area is developed. Perhaps your ancestors entire property was not developed, but my feeling are that the outlook is not good to find much "open space" from it. However I looked for where all the Elliots were in York County. They were all in Monaghan Twp. The York County Heritage Trust Library in York has the the tax records for Monaghan from 1848 back. so I looked there and found Andrew. he was single in 1795. He would not have been in the taxes until he was 21 so I figure he was born around 1774. He was also single in 1799. From 1800 to 1819 he shows up in the taxes he has either 1 cow or two in those tax records and he occupation is listed as saddle tree maker in several years. So I said to my self if he is not in the census he would be in another Elliot census. Andrew fits in the census record of Robert Elliot in 1790,1800 and 1810 and does not fit in any other Elliot census record. Then I when looking for Robert. Deed 2R288 in 1795 says Robert Elliot of Monaghan and wife Margaret see land to Col. Thomas Campbell which was part of the 159-1/2 Acres Robert got from is father Andrew. And in 1782 Robert of Monaghan bot 82 Acres of 165 which had belonged to Andrew Elliot of East Caln Twp, chester Co. PA. Chester Co will abstracts of 1781 show that Andrew Elliot of East Caln Twp names Robert of Momaghan Twp York Co. to get part of 608 acres that Andrew owned in Monaghan. Robert and John Elliot are brothers. Please let me know if you find the parents of Andrew of Chester Co. I am not related to the Elliots. I have never been able to find Andrew Elliott in a York county census. The closest the censuses come is Andrew Elliott, with what looks like the right set of offspring, in 1820 at North Middleton, Cumberland County, PA. In 1810 there is an Andrew Elliott in Lancaster County, PA, but the family mix doesn't fit. An Archibald Elliot (one t) in 1810 at Northumberland County has a family that appears to fit.
