I was told his parents came from Germany. I don't know their names, or whether he had siblings. This is what I do know: My great-grandfather, Joseph Hause, b. 1858 in Pennsylvania. Died 1914, San Diego, California. Buried, Greenwood memorial park, San Diego, Ca. He married Helen B. Kliphouse who was born in Holland. They married in 1906, Cook County, Chicago, Ill. They lived in Salt Lake City, Utah. Had two children, Josephine b. 1907, and Jean (my grandfather) b. 1910 in Salt Lake City, Ut. Helen died in SLC in 1922, 8 years after Joseph died. If this helps: My grandfather moved to Santa Monica, Ca after his Mother died and raised by his Aunt (mothers side), Jane Kliphouse Mahedy. My grandfather married, Ruth Austin b. 1907, Idaho, reared in Salt Lake City Utah. They lived in Santa Monica. I have plenty of family information for Helen Kliphouse Hause, but absolutely nothing for Joseph.....except a photograph, and a few census records. Since you state you do not know who the parents of Elvin are, why don't you start by getting the obits of the two people that are listed on the headstone with him? They probably are his parents. Good Mornin' Fellow Listers and Stan: Have you by chance checked the LDS Library (or their website) for their transcript of the church record of baptism or birth? This would (or should) then give you a church where you should be able to find the record - if he was baptized in a church. Donna Heller Zinn of Newville, Cumberland Co., PA. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stan Arney" <arney9thgeneration@yahoo.com> To: <payork@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 20, 2009 7:45 AM Subject: [PAYork] Looking for DTP of Christian Arneys birth Hi, I have been searching, in vain, for DTP (Definitive Tangible Proof) of one Christian Arney's birth. He was born in York, York County, Pennsylvania about 1750, and his father was Jacob Arney. I have found many postings about Christian Arney, stating such, but not any actual record of his birth. Do these records still exist? If by chance they do, where can they be located? I live in Kansas, so a trip to Pennsylvania is not going to happen any time soon, but if these records do still exist, maybe they are on microfilm at a library that does library exchange. However, that's getting ahead of myself, first of all, do these records still exist? Thank you for your time, consideration, and cooperation, in this matter, I truly appreciate it. Sincerely, Stan Arney Wichita, KS
