    3. Melissa, The link you provided in your email is for an older listing. I have no idea who created this list and have never verified the contents for accuracy. This list is never updated. The link Charles provided is the most current listing that I know of. If you feel there is something in error, please feel free to send me a correction. This list is maintained and updated solely by me. I am sure it isn't free of errors, but I do the best I can with what I have to work with. There are 27 cemeteries in Hellam Township, some of which are no longer in existence. Since you live so close to the York County Historical Trust, I would suggest you make the short drive and ask Lila where the cemeteries are located. She is the most knowledgeable person on this subject. While it is true that I don't live in Hellam township, that does not prevent me from contributing data that certainly benefits many other researchers. I do think contributing is much more productive than complaining. 3. I have been watching the postings here that have to do with the location of old cemeteries. I too am a local, grew up in the small town of Strinestown, Penna. At present I am working on getting any information on an old cemetery that at one time was located on the grounds where they recently tore down the Strinestown School. It has been brought to my attention that while doing the tear down, human remains had come to the surface. In doing research we have found that as far back as 1796 there is a deed that allows for a meeting place to be built and an area for a cemetery. At the time the town was called Mt Pleasant. Also recorded in a book called Newberry Township-1700-1900 there is an interview with a Dale Hayes, who witnesed the destruction of the old stones by the contractor who built the school. Some of the stone were said to have been hauled down to Hykes Mill and thrown in the Conewago Creek. I would be interested if anyone has a listing for this cemetery or name of this cemetery. There is to be a Civil War Soldier to be buried there also from a note at the Heritage Trust from a Clair Boekel of Strinestown. Very interesting information, but would like to see if anyone has any other facts about this. 3. I live in Lower Windsor Township, and within 500 yards of the Dritt cemetery. The correct/current name for the cemetery is the Tritt cemetery. It is/was on private land along the Susquehanna River in the area called Long Level. York County recently was "forced" to buy the property and other acres from the Ronald Kohr estate. The cemetery was last used in the early 1800s. It is a family cemetery. Those who care for the cemetery live in Carlisle, PA. Let me know what you need to know. The Dosch cemetery is also a private/family cemetery near the Dritt/Tritt cemetery. It is on private lands. Let me know what you need. B. I found your question posted on ancestry.com and replied, later to find a posting that my father made. My father is the great, great, great grandson of Andreas. My dad is Michael Eugene Leik. Trying to recall everything, I am rather certain Andreas moved to Yorkanna which is in York County PA. That is interesting that you researched the Leiks even though they are not relatives. I hope to some day travel to Germany so I can see where we came from. If there is any other infor that you would like, perhaps I could help. Thanks for the reply - I now have the family tree of the entire LEIK clan complete, including those who remained in PA and those who migrated to Iowa and some to Washington State. They are no relatives of mine but they came from my hometown in Germany. Are you related? What's the connection of your dad?
