Requested a marriage lookup for Ephriam Lentz & wife Susan ? Found them in the 1860 census and they are already married, so marriage date should be 1858/59 instead of 1864/65. Sorry
I would like to know marriage date for Ephriam Lentz and wife named Susan ? Need maiden name and date of marriage. Probably around 1864/65 in York Co. Thanks for any help Sue
Thanks Kathy

Thanks Mike for taking time to respond to my plea. I have seen some of the Digges citings but the Hist of PA is new to me. The part on Peter YOUNG is interesting but I can't yet tie it to the scant tree I have for him. I only have one sighting: BAPT: Adams County Church Records of the 18/th Century - Wright St John's Evan Lutheran Ch, Germany Twp (Littlestown area) Peter and Barbara Jung dau/ Elisabeth b/ 29 Oct 1763; bpt/ 25 Feb 1764, sp/ Elisabeth Schreiberin The wife Barbara I now have could well be the "Miss Burkhart" in Hist of PA, and the only ch I have [the above Eliz b 29 Oct 1763] could well be one of the "two other" ch in Hist of PA? I presume the bk does not give any dates within Peter's bio? Also, the "Streamers moved to Frederick City, Maryland" is also new to me. The History of Pennsylvania part 3 The History of Adams County, by Samuel P. Bates. 2. Digges' Choice 1724-1800, by Jan A. Bankert First, The History of Adams County. Peter Young settled in Union Township (in the Shorb neighborhood) Peter married a Miss Burkhardt, they had four children, Rachel, John, and two others ( don't know their names). Peter was a farmer as was John. John married a Miss Oyster and they had one son before she died. The son was named John Young Jr. John married for second time to Mrs. Catharine McSherry, a daughter of Mr. Little, the founder of Littlestown. John and Catharine had two children, Mrs. Sally(Young) Felty and Samuel. Samuel was born on Jan.18, 1818 in Union Township, Adams Co. PA. Samuel was a farmer and retired to Littlestown. Samuel was married twice, first to Margaret Hill who died the mother of nine children: William A.,Eliza J.,Mary C., Margaret., John A., Clara A., Sally, Charles S. and Laura. Samuel married for a second time to Miss. Cecillia C. Hill, sister to his first wife Margaret. Samuel was a member of the Reformed Church and politically he identified with the Republican party. Andrew Schreiber ( Schriver or Shriver ) came to what is now Adams County in the spring of 1733 along with his step-brother David Jung (Young). I don't know when but at some point in time the Schreibers' moved to Frederick City, Maryland. The Schreibers' and David Jung(Young) came to Philadelphia 1721 from Alstenbarn in the Electorate Palatine, Germany. David Young had land that was both in and out of Digges' Choice. Peter had land on Conewago Creek in Adams County. Second,Digges' Choice 1721-1800. It looks like David Young first bought land from John Digges in Nov. 15, 1749. He paid 30 pounds for 150 acres. He also bought 150 acres from Charles Carroll in 1750. David Young, a yeoman, sold 150 acres to Peter Young, a yeoman, in 1767 for 400 pounds. Some of this land was outside of Digges' Choice.David Young got a Warrant in 1744 for 100 acres and got a Patent for it in 1764 and sold that plus 133 acres to Peter Young for 36 pounds 4 shillings. David Young's Will was probated Aug. 16, 1773 and looks like Peter had not paid David the money for the land before Davids' death so Peter had buy it from his sibs. That's about it. You can buy the book, Digges' Choice 1724-1800 from Picton Press PO Box 250 Rockport, ME 04856-0250 or call 1-207-236-6565. Dear Hal, That part of Adams Co where the Youngs and some of your afore mentioned families lived was at one time part of Md. You will find several mentions of David and Peter in "Monocacy and Catoctin:" vol 2 by C.E. Schildknecht. One item is a list of early settlers mentioning David Young step brother of Andreas Schreiber emigrated from Alsen-born near Kaiserslautern.(Shriver Gen by Samuel S Shriver 1888). Another is a book by Agnes Young Long 1948 entitled Dewalt Young of Frederick Co Md and his Desc. There is a whole chapter on the Sponsellers and Dotterers are mentioned.
